Description
We are Fyne Ales, a family-owned Scottish farm brewery. When our brewery was founded in 2001, the goal was not only to make the best quality beer, but to bring jobs, industry and tourism to our community and our quiet corner of rural Scotland. We’ve continued brewing in this spirit ever since. Drawing water from the hills and brewing in converted farm buildings, we create modern, ambitious and progressive beers in a wide variety of styles.

Cask at Queen Vic, Aberdeen. It pours clear dark ruby - blacm with a thick, fluffy tan head. The aroma is earthy roast, toasty, burnt toast, dark roast, umami, salty liquorice, touch of dried/dark fruits and a touch of chocolate. The taste is firmly dry, bitter, charred vibes, dark roast, some umami, liquorice, burnt toast, cacao and some toasty spice with a drying, bitter roasted finish. Light+ body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Plenty for flavour for the abv. Commands attention. Nice one.

375ml bottle from brewery shop in Cairndow - black body with a massive lasting tan head. Real vineous berry notes, sharp bitterness, but balanced with some roasted chocolate notes. Very interesting beer this one.

Bottle picked up at Luvians St Andrews. It pours slightly hazy copperish - brown with a small fluffy white cap. The aroma is damp oak, leather, bitter - sweet, touch of umami, liquorice, slightly medicinal, touch of ketchup, savoury whisky, tangy berry, bramble and raspberry. The taste is sour and puckering upfront, tart, damp oak, firmly dry, musty, earthy, dull medicinal vibes, crunchy granny smith apple, gooseberry, dried berry, touch of tannin, tangfastics, liquorice, savoury, salty whisky and a touch of leather..finish is firm and dry. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Nice depth
and quite a unique flavour profile. Interesting and novel.

750ml bottle from Luvians St Andrews. It pours clear pale greenish - yellow with a spritzy, dissipating white head. The aroma is bright, zingy, tangy, crunchy white grape, must, gooseberry, lime sherbet, greengage, apple and dry oak. The taste is super crispy, bone dry, snappy, puckering, bright, tart, limey, gooseberry, tart white grape, must, sherbet, sour candy, soor plooms, hint of white wine vinegar and dry oak with a drying, puckering finish. Average body and fairly high, effervescent, prickly carbonation. Bright and puckering. Very wine line. Tasty.
