Description
Mixed fermentation brewery specialising in locally sourced, heavily fruited and hop-forward beers with a sense of place and seasonality.
Big flavours and bright colours, that’s what you can expect from Vault City Brewing. We’re the UK’s biggest sour beer producer and we’ve been making fruit-forward, modern sour beers in Edinburgh since 2018.
Our mixed fermentation style and distinctive house culture create the perfect base for real fruit ingredients, which gives our beer its intense aroma and flavour, not to mention the eye-catching colours.

Tasty stuff. Sweet, has a cotton candy vibe to it. Very basic. Generic dark malts, a few raisin. So so.

A murky and pink beer, a head is small and blond. Aroma has red berries, sourness, liquorice candies. Taste has berries, light souness and peppery liquorice. Medium bodied. Could be more finnish peppery liquorice (turkinpippuri).

On tap at Cardinal (ground floor only), Stavanger. ABV is 8%. Fikk smakt den nå. Vel, den smaker ikke vondt, langt derifra. En tjuktflytende sak med rødlig-lilla farge. Duft og smak som en søt og fruktdominert drink. Men ØL? Vel, hvis man strekker begrepene langt nok ... Men hovedmålgruppen er nok dem som liker å gå amok i iskremdisken, samt i smågodthyllene på Europris.

Just a bit too much mint menthol to finish.

Enjoyable overall. Has a jammy sweetness about it. Mellow citric bite. Limited tea vibes. Could do with a little less sweetness, but overall enjoyable. Doesn’t look like much, though, a bit murky.
