Description
Centuries of brewing tradition, the best ingredients and strict compliance with the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516 are quality that you can taste with every sip! The Rittmayer Brewery is one of the oldest breweries in Forchheimer Land. The family business dates back to 1422. The brewery even received its own coat of arms certificate from the Count of Kulmbach because of its good beer.
In spring 2012, our new brewery on the outskirts of Hallerndorf went into operation right next to our filling center. It is one of the most innovative medium-sized breweries in all of Germany.

Bottle from Hausmann, kept cold (but a bit over its date). Medium golden amber with light haze and moderate head. Smells like German variety C hops and English toffee biscuits. Moderate body, mild caramel, decent mix of earthy, dank, and citrusy-pine on the tongue. Pretty powerful lasting bitterness, but it's nice and smooth. Good one!

Bottle courtesy of Munich Dave, cheers Dave, consumed at home Wednesday 29th September 2021, listening to Tom Ravenscroft on 6 Music, cooking Salmon, French Bean, Anchovies and Potato Traybake. Soft moutheel, smoke on the nose. In the mouth light caramel intermingled with smoke but a this is a really nice smokiness, tasty and very drinkable, really soft, a little liquorice. Lovely and my rating doesn't do it justice.

0.5 l bottle from 'Bierothek', best before December 2021. Clear, golden with a medium large, frothy, stable, white head. Slightly sweetish, slightly malty, a little grassy-spicy aroma of grains and light straw. Slightly sweet, hardly bitter, slightly malty and a little grassy-spicy taste of grains, some straw and traces of honey, followed by a short, minimally bitter, a little grassy-spicy finish. Medium body, very smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Pleasant but not very outspoken brew, solid Helles.
