Cask, gravity at Merton Summer Beer and Cider Festival, 17-07-09 Pours light amber in colour, some haze. Nicely citric with crisp grapefruit encountered quite early. This has a furiously bitter bite but its tempered with good undercurrent of sweetness in fact the balance is quite excellent. Strength was apparent but never intrusive or to the detriment of this fine beer. Good spicy touches, fabulously bitter and sweet a great British interpretation of a DIPA. Lovely stuff. Cask@Beer Hunters’. A bit hazy golden color, this cask foamed a lot, so good white creamy head. Honey and pine in the nose. Crisp hopping in the nose. Crisp hopping in the flavor, long bitter aftertaste. Pine and resin. Nice 4% session beer, you can drink this all night.

Cask at the Live and Let Live, Cambridge. Amber with a dense white head; rich, buttery aroma with a hint of apricot and almond; oliy and honeyed in the mouth, with orange fruit and deep sustained bitterness, leading to a rich, chewy, butterscotch finish. Excellent.

Cask at Hatch End W’Spoons. Golden coloured ale with a fresh floral aroma. Quite hoppy for a wheat beer. Any beer brewed by Oakham is decent. This went down very nicely on a very warm late Spring day in suburbia.
