On gravity at the London Drinker festival 12/3/08. Aroma of grapefruit, lycees and sweet malt with a slight whiff of sulphur. Sweet flavour with a big citrus hop finish. Good.

Cask, gravity at Merton Winter Beer Festival Feb’ 08 Dark reddy/brown beer with a nice white head. The hops surge forward on first inquisitive whiff absolutely flooding the aroma with some glorious citrusness, oakiness it’s clean, fresh and stunning. The flavour gun is also set to stun as well, your mouth and tastebuds absolutely hammered with a juicy, hoppy frenzy of crisp grapefruit, bitterness hits but then in an instant a lovely sweet malty toffee underbelly rescues this and provides a stunning balance to this beer. This has the most incredible amount of flavour’s present and really is one superb beer, my beer of the festival by some considerable margin.

Cask, gravity at Merton Winter Beer Festival Feb 08 Reddy amber colour with white bubbly head. Punchy citrus hits you with a left hook, then the bitterness which coats your tongue and hangs around for ever delivers a devastating right uppercut. Your left reeling before that long, long, hoppy tropical fruit finish delivers the body blow. Oakham don’t do things by half this is great, the Japanese Sorachi Ace hop along with American duo of Amarillo and Cluster hops provide one very interesting beer.

Cask conditioned handpull at The Knights Templar, JDW, Chancery Lane. Pale gold with thin white head. Trademark citrus hop aroma, not in best condition maybe. A little flat. But the insistent hop on the finish is impossible to ignore. Aroma and finish are excellent, malts are a little weak. 3.4/5. Re-rate Cask handpull at The Bull, Horton Kirby, Kent. Pale gold, lasting white head. Really quite tart, but a lovely light piercing citrus fruit beer. Almost lime like. Really great condition too. Wow, that lime/hop is exceptional. Stunning. The freshness on the new barrel was amazing with a harsh mango fruit edge.

Cask gravity at Pigs Ear BF 07. Orangey brown, bit oxidised maybe. Nice hop as always. Little bit woody. Sweetish malt. Not the best, but still a cracking beer.

(Cask at Bree Louise, Euston, London, 1 Dec 2007) Golden yellow colour with big, frothy, white head. Fruity, floral nose with lemon and fresh, grassy hops . Fruity taste with notes of citrus (lemon) and decent amounts of grassy, citrussy hops in the finish. Fairly light body, but with a nice citrussy, hop character.
