Cask, gravity dispense, at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. Straw coloured with a ring of white head; fruity aroma; light citrus and caramel flavours; lasting peppery bitter finish. Very drinkable but not very memorable.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Very pale straw with a thin white head; weak citrus aroma; surprisingly full-bodied; clean and fresh tasting with lemon and a dry biscuity body; gently bitter Grapefruit finish. Very refreshing.

Cask at W’Spoons Southgate Nth London. Deep brown colour, malty and some toffee and of course the hops. Also a little musty as if an antique beer. US influenced, pretty good find.

Cask at Southgate W’Spoons Nth London. Hazy gold colour, huge hop aroma and taste. Dry, strong citrus taste and very addictive indeed. Hop taste lingers for hours. Almost a US beer but still retaining something English in character. At last an English ale to remember!

Cask, gravity at Merton Winter Beer Festival 6th and 7th Feb 2009 Pours a light straw colour with lovely white bubbly head. Taste is quite lovely, some cooked lemons, in fact its like the preserved lemons that you get in a Morrocan Tagine. There is also a great grapefruit pithiness there, its juicy and clean. Nice stringy bitterness, nicely dry, really refreshing. I love this stuff and think it will be the first to sell out, lets put it this way I’ve recommended this to a few people and they’ve all loved it A7 A5 F8 P4 OV16 4.0

Bottle that I picked up at Budgens, Peterborough, Cambs, 22-01-09 Pours straw coloured with big white head, I don’t know why but for some reason I was expecting that this was a dark beer but I just randomly picked it off the shelf so had no idea. Hoppy aroma, citrus also detected. Taste is quite clean, fruity, refreshing, quite tangy and decent. A7 A4 F7 P3 OV14 3.5

Cask-conditioned at the Bag ONails, Bristol 29/11/08. Aroma of floral hops with a touch of citrus fruit. Sweet, apricot and lemon flavours with a hint of spiciness and short, dry finish. Ok.

From cask The Rake. Pours slight cloudy orange with a bubbly white head. Spiced an towards herbal aroma. Hoppy and mild spiced flavoured with a nice bitterness coming through. Light citric hoppy too. Spiced lasting impression. Presumeably not in top condition but still good.

Huge dark tan head over near black beer with some ruby reflections. Very fresh-hoppy smell, c-hops like; dry hop bales, but preciously little else. The same, or even more hop-toned taste, but now with bitter chocolate, going over in tobacco ash and black coffee in the finish. VERY dry. Bit burning MF, especially backthroat; rather well-bodied, creamy texture. Very nice beer, worth many much stronger ones. Big thanks to Darren!
