Description
Founded in 2007, Ascot Ales was bought by Chris Davies in 2017. Together with his son, Conor, they rebranded to Ascot Brewing Company and have since launched a secondary, multi-award winning, craft beer brand, Disruption Is Brewing.

In 2020, we built a formidable 8,500 sq. ft Brewery and TapHouse, which boasts a massive mezzanine bar with 20 taps, and hosts all types of events from beer festivals to comedy nights and corporate events to private parties.

We believe beer is the social glue that binds communities together. By brewing remarkable, flavour-bursting beer and offering unrivalled, memorable experiences, we want to push the boundaries of what’s possible when great beer and people unite.

This means we need to be bold, and we need to be big.

In November 2019, we moved to an 8,500 sq. ft warehouse, built a massive 2,500sq. ft, 20 tap taproom, increased our brewing capacity and launched an innovative craft beer brand, Disruption is Brewing. Later they completely abanded the Ascot branding.

Cask at Egham. Berry aroma. Light-medium opaque brown. Thin frothy white head. Sweet. Fruit and berries. Turkish delight-esque. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Flat carbonation. Abrupt finish. It's OK. A thin stout. And not too much like Turkish Delight which I am not a fan of.

Handpull cask at the Salmon, Leicester. Mid-golden, clear with a small off-white head and some six day lacing. Light aroma with melon, orange peel, grass, some peppery spice. Taste is absolutely brilliant: mostly bitter and a bit sharp, mellowing into a proper tropical fruit flavour. Finish is very bitter, astringent and a touch soapy, but that's just being picky. Soft carbonation. A cracker.

Bottle from Kris Wines at home. Very dark brown/black colour with golden brown bubbly head. Aroma is chocolate and roasty, lots of malt, touch of cream and something savoury, almost meaty. Bit of booziness too. Smells much stronger than 5%! Taste is chocolate, roasty malt, slight bitterness, bit of smoke. Some hoppy fruitiness too, can taste the orange. Quite unusual. Pretty thick and quite smooth. Nice long lasting roasty finish. Pretty nice. --- Beer merged from original tick of Anastasia's on 09 Sep 2019 at 16:06 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7. [Cask at the New Leathern Bottle, Warfield.] A bright amber pour with a tight cream head; aroma of citrus and spice; taste of lemony citrus and some rye-type grain adding some spice; then a sweeter lemon sherbert finish with lingering herbs. Not bad.
