Description
Welcome to the page of Brouwerij-Stokerij Pirlot. actively brewing and distilling quality beverages since 1998.

Bottle @ Berts Bierhuis, Utrecht. Pours ruby amber with a creamy fluffy beige head and lacings. Nose is yeast, caramel and tart fruit. Flavor is caramel, yeast and dark fruit with a slightly tart edge and some brown sugar. Medium bodied.

Bottle @ home. Another abbey tripel with the standard hazy yellow / golden color (not bad, just getting a little tired of it). White head. Smell yeast and slightly spicy. Actually wanted to give aroma 6,5 and taste 7,5 but unfortunately that’s not possible. Taste sweet, slightly fruity. Medium body, decent carbo.

Nice dark color. Not much smell and pretty average taste. Little bit dry finish. Overall still pretty good to drink.

Pours a hazy yellow, orange color. Smells not good, can’t tell what it is. Taste is a little bit better but not a winner for me. Only thing about it in my opinion is the carbs, which suit the 9% ABV.

Brotig, trockener Abgang. 9/8/8/9/8/8

2009 vintage
Orange golden colour, full and frothy white head. Aroma of raisins, malt, belgian yeast and spices. Quite alcoholic. Flavour sweetish, malty, yeasty, notes of raisins and other fruits. Rather spicy, nutmeg, cloves. Bit more pronounced bitter than expected (nice though). Finish subtle bitter.

bottle@bar: clear golden/yellow colour with a big head (+4 fingers) that doesn’t stay, leaving behind some minor lacing, aroma is fruity with yeast & hops, bit sweet, the taste is that of bitter hops, touch of grapefruit, it is certainly bitter with not much sweetness to it but there is a distinct fruit like quality to it, predominantly grapefruit but also some orange, pineapple & yeast, with a touch of spices, body is medium, carbonation is medium as well, this is somewhat above average within the style but not the best, still certainly not bad

Very hazy honey coloured body with a thin, fast-dying white head. Aroma of yeast, sugar, flowers and a bit of hops. Medium-bodied; Mild yeast and bready flavour with a good honey and sweet flavour and a large dryness that shows well with floral and slight grassyness at the end. Aftertaste is very mild only showing some sweetness and a bit of bready malt. Overall, a good beer - perhaps a bit mild, but a nice beer for sure. I sampled this stubby 33 cL bottle purchased at a small tobacco shop at Rue De Chartreaux and Rue De Poissoniers in Bruxelles, Belgium earlier today on 01-January-2011.
