Description
Welcome to the page of Brouwerij-Stokerij Pirlot. actively brewing and distilling quality beverages since 1998.

Darkish gold color with a fine, snow-like rocky head. Lemon-spice aroma, not overtly sweet. Dry, with lots of green apples. Flavor of apples, rich malt, dried strawberry. Balanced sweetness, with good complexity. Relatively dry and crisp. Nice stuff.

Bottle Clear, deep amber to brown body. Rocky/frothy head. Nice lace. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel with some spices. Not very intense, but ok. Lightly bitter, moderately sweet flavour. Lacks a bit complexity. Quite warm mouthfeel, with an ok balance. Anyway, quite appealing. There is no sharp edge and it is not cloyingly sweet. So, it is far from bad, but not extraordinary.

Bottle: Poured a murky orange with floaties and a small flat thin head. The aroma is yeast and light fruit. Taste is very sweet with fruit and malt there was a light spice to it. The spice has seemed to mild as this bottle has been aged for a few years.

Bottle at the Belgian Embassy in Oslo. Looking nice in the glass, with a hazy, orange body and an off-white head. There was a lovely spiced aroma, with malt and some hops blending nicely in. Quite spiced for a tripel I think, but lovely. The spices weren’t that evident in the mouth, which also was nice, but more on the malty side, with pale malt and a fruity touch. Some hops giving bitterness as well. Effervescent, full-bodied mouthfeel, and a lasting, spiced and quite bitter finish. Yummy! (080410)
