Description
Welcome to the page of Brouwerij-Stokerij Pirlot. actively brewing and distilling quality beverages since 1998.

Hazy golden color. Aroma of roasted ham and malt; sounds weird, but it’s nice. Malty, fruity malts, good yeast, good bitterness. Solid, as usual from de Proef. Original and very good.

Draught Clear chestnut; yellow-brownish head, receding, leaving lace. Faint chocolate malts, sweet and very - but VERY - little sourish (pickles-like). In the taste, the sourishness is here much more outspoken. My companion says rinsing solution - but I’m not really getting soap. Some malts, coloures malts, and a little bread. Bit of burning MF, little acidburn. Not my coppa tea, sorry, not clean tasting enough.

Draught Very fine, nitrokeg-like head, leaving rings; deep golden beer. Very roasted nose, toast, laurel, juniper berry, like herbs for a venison stew, and my drinking companion earmarked D.M.S. Again some laurel, and, somehow, unmalted grain. Background and retronasal (European) hops. Some restsugars and alcohol. Medium to good attenuation. Alcoholburn. Decent tripel. Pity about the pale malt DMS.

Bottled (2004 vintage). Hazily golden, rich firm head. Concentrated starfruit aroma. Sweety and full bodied with some sugar and orange liqueur but low hop rate. A good, aromatic strong golden ale.

An unclear orange beer with a thin white head. The aroma is yeasty, flowery, fruity with oranges being most present, and spicy with coriander being most dominant. The flavor is very sweet witn notes of alcohol, oranges, and spices - especially coriander.
