Description

(bottle, 25cl, as Queue de Charrue Triple, 9.0% abv) Almost clear, golden colour with a blond medium-sized foamy head. Slightly grainy nose with a tinge of cara-malt and subtle fruity notes. Moderately sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a moderate carbonation. One-dimensional (cara-)malty and subtle fruity taste with a tinge of spicy notes; bitter-sweet malty and slightly hoppy finish. Not overly convincing. 13.III.11

330 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 6.6%. Deep golden colour, slightly hazy, huge white head. Aroma of herbal and grassy continental hops, also some spicy notes. The flavour is sweet (maybe too sweet) with notes of white kandi sugar, some fruity and spicy hints. Drinkable, but not the greatest Belgian ale I’ve had.

Sharp sour brown beer in the Duchesse du Bourgogne mode. This beer is sweeter and with a herby medicinal note in the finish. Very nice.

Bottled. Golden colour with a mediumsized foamy white head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is honey, sweet maltyness, mild alcohol as well as some nectary notes. Flavour is nectar, sweet malt, some fruity and yeasty notes as well. A bit grassy and wooden notes in the finish as well.

(bottle, 25cl) Clear, ruby brown colour with a medium-sized and slightly beige foamy head. Moderately acidic-fruity and mildly roasted malty aroma with notes of red berries and a whiff of caramel. Sour-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Initially fruity and vinegary taste with a quite well-blended malty and slightly sugary sweetness towards the finish, accompanied by a slightly roasty and shy woody touch. Nice but a tad too sweet. 02.XI.10
