Bottle. Mahogony beer with a brown/tan head. Chocolate and nice malt aroma. Chocolate and nice balancing malt flavor. Medium-plus bodied. Chocolate, light roast, and rich malt linger. Nice complexity. Very good.

Bottle from Bevmo in Solana Beach. Pours a pale golden color with a thin white head that diminishes quickly. Spotty lacing. Floral hops aroma with notes of citrus and pears. Medium-bodied and moderately hoppy with floral and spiced notes. Some light malt and fruit in the background as well. The finish is mostly hoppy with some biscuity malt behind it, and a lingering bitter aftertaste. Above average overall, however not up to par with what I imagine Alesmith can accomplish in an APA.

750 ml Bottle purchased mail order from South Bay in Imperial Beach, California. Pour is hazed golden yellow with a two inch slightly off white head. Nice settling on the pour. Head falls fast, with ok lacing. Aroma of spicy coriander, candi sugar yeastiness and some grainy earthiness. Taste is the sugary yeastiness, coriander, honey, raisins and only a faint amount of alcohol, which is well integrated. The finish has some hop bitterness as well. Tasty. Palate is medium, decent carbonation makes this pretty drinkable. Thanks for selling mail order, Joey, and sharing the AleSmith love around the country!

Bottled. A hazy golden with an off-white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of grass, grapefruit, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with hoppy notes of grass and grapefruit, as well as light notes of elderberry flowers, leading to a dry bitter finish. The body is thin.

75cl bottle. Trade. Thanks Chris. Pours pitch black with a small creamy brown head. Nose is roasted malts - toffee, caramel, chocolate & coffee. Silky smooth palate. Bitter long roasted aftertaste. Pleasant warmth from alcohol. A heavy Imp. Porter. Yummi!

750 ml bottle shared by Indra. Pour is a slight haze golden orange cordovan with a smallish light tan head. Head breaks down to bigger bubbles. Aroma of dusty earthy hazelnut maltiness, some floral, some light oxidation way in the back. Behind all of this is some dry fruit which shows some mild cherry sweetness. Taste is mild soft caramel sweetness, the hazelnut, and followed by some resin earthiness. It amazingly seems to have a mild resin hop bitterness. The oxidation is present, but works really nicely to meld and smooth out the flavors. Palate is medium to heavy, coats the mouth a bit, then transitions to be dry and leafy in the finish. 2005 Vintage. 750 ml bottle generously shared by tjthresh. Pour is ruby, red brown - hazed, with a tan head that falls fast with not much lacing. Aroma of soft sweet fruity caramel. Vanilla woodiness in the background of the nose. Soft, delicate, very engaging nose. Taste is nice; soft caramelly, grainy with a sharp woodiness. Some residual alcohol in the finish that doesn’t detract. This was a really nice beer. Thank you for sharing this one with me Tom, very cool of you. (8,4,8,4,16 - 4.0)

22 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a creamy white head. Peachy and grapefruity hoppy aroma, extremely fruity and inviting. Mild and crisp flavour with a lot of fruity hops flavours and oils. Nice crisp and without much caramel malt body, but it works okay.

750ml Bottle at RBSG shared by HelloMyNameIs; (my favorite style!!!) Man I wish I could have had this fresh! Nose of caramel, sweetness, and some pasty wheat with some oxidation; Murky orange with a small off-white head; flavor a little cardboardy with caramel, vanilla, and some toffee! Fresh it might be way up there!
