Description
Myself and partner Sue began brewing hand crafted beers in our garden shed, with just two fermenters and a four barrel plant, the ales were bottled in the kitchen!

The brewery started in 2002 initially as Leek Brewery in the heart of the Staffordshire Moorlands.

In 2012 the name Leek Brewery was dropped and changed into Staffordshire Brewery.

50 cl bottle labeled as Shakesbeer, bought at Selfridges Food Hall, London. Pours clear amber, almost no head. Aroma is mostly esters, alongside some rotten nuts. Taste is watery, thin-bodied, insipid. Slightly bitter finish, with hints of fusels. Bad.

Bottle, present, part of a 3 bottle presonalised gift pack from the brewery. Poured deep amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, malt, light hop and grass. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium body, rather watery texture, quite flat carbonation.

Clear deep amber beer, a few pale cream colour bubbles. Palate is light and finely minerally crisp. Thin malts but there is a decent dark toffee streak. Pleasantly ripe fruits, some prune and raisin. Modest treacle. Light finish. Plenty to keep you amused.

500ml bottle (BBE Sep 2016) into an Abbot Ale glass tankard at home on 4th Jan 2016. Lovely dark brown with a ruby hue in strong light, sadly no head would appear, even though I poured it robustly, just a wisp and collar. Red berries and malts rule the nose and taste, some spice/herb like flavours too. Fairly sweet yet with a semi-tart fruit pie finish. Different and interesting, a UK Christmas/Winter brew with a bit of character for a change.

500ml bottle into a pint glass tankard on 31st Dec 2015 during an English tasting session I had with myself. Good mahogany body but no head at all, pity. Pleasant hoppy feel to the brew with a good malt base to counter the bitterness: liked it. Semi-sweet from malty molasses and bitter from the hop content, well put together blend if slightly unbalanced and a little too sweet for some palates (not mine).

50cl bottle from a local garden centre. A chestnut brown pour with a ring of cream head; earthy malt aroma; soft, nutty malt taste; and a chocolate malt finish with a touch of twiggy bitterness, that leaves a rather thin cocoa milky feel in the mouth.
