Bottling date: 07/11/13. Thanks franski! Shared with him, kajser27 and ogivlado. Black body, tinged with amber, scant head, only vague traces of an off white, perhaps brownish or tan head. Huge malty aroma, raisins, slight dogfood, chocolate, vaaaague candied orange, vague port notes, dusty. Nice! Taste... hmmm... nice caramelly heavy maltiness, vague coffee, vague burnt sugar, on top of that some citric hopiness popped up. Milk chocolate popped up as I was writing this in the finish. Vaaague bitterness. Quite nice and tasty.

Bottle from Fyne Ales’ brewery tap. Black body with a thick beige head. Good lacing. Aroma of Twiglets, black cherry, coffee and blueberry. Flavour of burnt toast, brambles, peppery spice, espresso and ash. Thin to medium body with a smooth texture. Very bitter and dry - it doesn’t quite gel, in my opinion.

dark brown, almost black colour, minimal beige head, which completely disappears quite quickly; aroma of intensive coffee, somechocolate, maybe liqueur; taste of coffee (less dominant that in the aroma), some syrupy sweetness and liqueur notes, as well as dark chocolate; good imperial stout

Thuizz. Koffie smaak is goed maar de combi van koffie, stout en bitter van de hop blijft moeilijk en geeft een ondefinieerbare (na)smaak. Backlog from 2015/06/09.

Dutch interpretation of Hair of the Dog’s Blue Dot; at Billies Bierkafetaria in Antwerp. Thick and frothy egg-white head, misty peach blonde colour. Strong, dank aroma of orange, pink grapefruit, roses, biscuit, stale sweat, hay, soaked white bread, peach, raw cauliflower. Crisp, ’cleanly fruity’ onset, hints of mango, orange and redcurrant, tingling carbo but not overcarbonated, light caramelly and bit bready malt backbone over which a very strong, aromatic, resiny, tonic water-, pine resin- and grapefruit-like hop bitterness is built, stretching deep into the throat and satisfyingly bitter. Seems a bit less ’clean’ than the original but this is surely a very good DIPA.

Coffee and alcohol in the nose. Coffee and alcohol in the taste, along with some toffee, caramel notes. Watery mouthfeel and sweet aftertaste, the alcohol overly present. Ok, but nothing spectacular.
