Description
The brewery started with the first brews in 1995 and brought the first beers to the market in 1999. The brewers work according to traditional brewing methods to produce distinctive beers from the noble raw materials of barley malt, hops, water and yeast. The quality of the products is guaranteed by modern equipment in constant evolution and systematic analyzes of every brew in the laboratories of the Abbey Notre Dame d'Orval.

Bottle. A mostly foggy orange colored beer with a dense finger-thick white head leaving some curtains. Perfumed hops in the aroma, grass, pine cone notes, flowers and a peppery touch, with generic fruityness, some yeast notes, a touch of pale malts and canned peaches. It's full-bodied and nicely carbonated, perhaps a bit much, but nice for a Belgian beer, semi-dry, and with a decent bitterness. Spiced, grassy, lightly piney hops, some flowers and a yeast touch, canned peaches and some white sugar, tropical fruits and some bready pale malts in the flavor. Lasting fruity, piney, peppery finish. Delicious indeed, love the way they used the hops. Complex, tasteful and moreish. 180718

33cl bottle starts to gush on the pop, then pours a mostly clear gold with some frothy, sticky, white head. Nose is OK, couchy, straw, some paper, lemon rind, some potpourri. Flavor has some stale bread, straw, grass, hay, some lemon, a little white pepper, some honey. Finishes full bodied, spritzy.

Bottle - straightforward but nicely made Barleywine - some oxidation from the age adds notes of sherry - caramelized sugars, cherry, earthiness, leather - solid.

Bottle. An unclear orange colored beer with a big, fluffy white head. Herbal, grassy, yeasty-spiced aroma with some pale malts, bread and hay. It's full-bodied, smooth and rather heavily carbonated, though not in a bad way. Herbal bitterness, some notes of white sugar sweetness, dandelion, apricot, yeast and a peppery hint. Sort of funky. Long fruity, lighlty funky and grassy finish. A bit messy this one, sort of yeasty too, but it's an interesting and quite nice anyway. 180602

330ml bottle from Vanuxeem as La Prime Biere d'hover / Winterland. I assume it's the same? Pours a misty reddish amber, foamy pale tan head. Aroma of spice, treacle. Taste is smooth, balanced, moderately sweet malt with herbal notes, light spice, faint treacle. Ok winter beer.
