Bomber pours an opaque black with a foamy, lacing tan head and a watery texture. Aroma is sort of unique, tropical fruits and mild citrus fruits from the hops mixed with caramel and cookie dough from the roasted malts. Flavor is similar, two parts with the citrus fruits, key limes mixed with bitter chocolate, coffee, toast and a bit of licorice. Creamy in the mouth with a lasting bitterness that’s a mix of coffee and citrus bitterness. I don’t totally know what to make of this. It was certainly enjoyable to drink bit it doesn’t give you enough of one particular thing to make it a real winner.

Thanks to Quake1028 I finally get a chance to taste this brew. Pours very dark with nice looking brown head. The aroma is roasty with dark to nearly burnt malts to go along with some toastiness and a hint of vanilla. I also get a thin layer of dark fruity esters too. The taste is thick rich and yummy with yummy yumminess mixing with roasty malts, burnt malts, rich dark chocolate goodness and some faint drying malt astringency. Wow, this works very well. I like the bit of balance created by the hint of astringency to play against the rich sweet malt notes.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is malty with strong notes of hops and grass. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of grass and grapefruit. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

The standard woody with high cohumulone bitterness. Muddy light brown colour. Clean, balanced but with a bit too much sugar and crystal malt. Woody hop nose.

bottle - Well this one is certainly different. I never would have thought to make a black and tan with an IPA and an imperial stout. It works though. The aroma is led by the citrus and pine accented hops character and backed up by the dark roast malt. The flavor is an interesting combination of the coffee noted roast malts and the assertive hops that put this one pretty high on bitterness, but the big stout malts balance it out. It’s pretty full bodied and quite enjoyable.

Bottle. Pour is an orange color with a little bit of a head. Aromas are citrus dominate: graperuit and lemon peel. Hops presence in the flavor gives quite a pucker as it is twangier than most IPA’s. I think I’d like it a little better if it were a little calmer hops.

Bomber. Pours dark brown with a tan head that dies back to a quarter inch of bubbly froth. Aromas are hops dominated... crisp pine resin and grapefruit... cant’ tell if I’m picking up some dark malt or if my mind is playing tricks on me. Flavor is an interesting and swirling combination of Boris and Heaven... the malty stout tones come out much stronger than I would have guessed with the aroma where they get swallowed up by the hops blast. Nice enough, but I’d way rather have the individual parts in stead of the blend.

Purply-brown colour. Syrupy and not much else. Blackberry, chocolate...boring...ultra sweet. Argh - fruit beer does not inherently have to such, but the brewer needs to make an effort.

Near black colour. heavy blackberry and light chocolate on the aroma. Palate is blackberryish with hints of chocolate. Soft of thin in the end but the flavour is nice.

Courtesy of Degarth. Pours deep dark brown with mocha head. The mild aroma is chocolate malts, mild roasted malts and faint fruitiness. The taste is nice and roasty with roasted malts and chocolate malts that run straight into burnt and nearly ashy malts. The way the flavor grows into highly roasted malts and burnt malts is pleasing. More chocolate malts and faint fruity esters emerge into the finish. Ymmy.
