Pitch black color, expresso head with big bubbles. Slightly smokey, roasted malty aroma. Quite alcoholic, sticky liquerish, some hops and smokey flavors. Coffee beans in the finish. Good, quite different than Hel&Verdenomis, which I understood is "father beer" for this one. This was more alcoholic and smokey.

Pitch black color, no head. Licorice, tar, maybe a bit smokey nose. Liquerish palate. Tar, licorice, tobacco, sweetness. Some Mikkeller Black -like rubbery notes. Very nice brew, has ageing potential. Another big time beer from De Molen!

Cask Deep brown, with almost no head. Cognac, cherry, alcohol, wood, fruity, and fusels, and wow. Beautiful balance of alcohol, fusels, wood, fruity esters, dark fruit. Vinous². Viscous, oily MF, just sliding down in a lethal way - perfect balance. Effectively the best Dutch beer ever tasted, genuine masterpiece, whatever mixing it required.

My 5000th rating!
Dark ruby color, thick expresso head. Glueish, fruity, dark berry (plums) aroma. Plummy, alcoholic, sweet touch of wood, licorice. Extremely warming, of course, still young, but already enjoyable. And very interesting what kind of (different) beer can be brewed with Bordeaux yeast by mixing Esra and Rasputin.

33cl Bottle, batch 386, from De Bierkoning. Clear amber colour, creamy white head. Strong aroma of hops, pine, grapefruit, some malts and caramel. Flavour is hoppy, pine, grapefruit, some sweetness. Finish is bitter and a bit burning estery alcohol. Soft carbonation, creamy thick mouthfeel, alcohol very well hidden. Dangerously drinkable.
