Sample at Daily Growler Powell. Hazy orange-gold color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily to a film. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of funky brett, fruit and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of funky citrus, brett yeast, malt and oak. The finish is moderately sour with an oaky and fruity aftertaste. Solid beer all around.

Bottle pours a dark brown black with a spritzt tan head. Not particularly heavy or rich, nice sweet licorice and dark roast flavors and aromas. A bit thin bodied. Very subtle oak/bourbon notes.

Bottle, pours a hazy light pink/orange with a quick fizy head. Vague sweet fruit flavors of chery and strawberry. Very fruit forward and abit odd.

Whole Foods Bowery, NYC bottle ($10): pours hazy gold with a white head. Aroma is basement, funk, farmhouse, and earthiness. Taste is straw, brett, and not so substantial in body. Front of the beer is definitely juicier and more funky while it seems to fizzle towards the end. I thought it was good but the two other beers I had from this series were better.

375 mL waxed bottle poured. Pours a clear pale yellow color with a thin oily head. Sour citrus aroma. Intense floral forward foavor, with an obvious brett background. Not the sour flavor I was expecting. Almost no tart element at all, though all flavor points to good here. Very tasty, refreshing brew.

Owl Farm, Brooklyn tap: Pours bright golden with a white head. Aromas of wine, vinegar, and brett. Powerful stuff.. Taste is not all that sour, but certainly a bit at the beginning. Some earthiness. Brett taste lingers in the mouth for a while. Pretty nice.

Bottle from Elizabeth Station, Bellingham, WA Dark brown, nearly black. Huge foaming head, even sneaking it into the glass. Light roasted slightly tart flavors. A little farmhouse yeast character but just didn’t love this one. Also would not have guessed the 12 ABV
