Bottled on 6-6-09. Hazy amber body with a quickly diminishing off-white head. Light floral aroma with some citrus notes. The flavors are much more pronounced than the aroma. It starts moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes light to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Tastes predominately of grapefruit juice mixed with orange juice with some alcohol pepperiness on top. Medium body, velvety texture and lively carbonation. Too sweet for an IPA, but a pleasant drinker.

Pour is a cloudy brown with a large tan head. Aroma at first is sour and very wine like. After it breathes more of a fruity and candi sugar aspect takes over. Flavor is lots of candi sugar and dark fruits with a whallop of alcohol to follow. Kinda like alcohol infused gummy bears. Finish is thick with some molasses rich malts and again lots of alcohol burn. Well made beer but i probably won’t need another unless some age takes off the alcohol burn.

Black with a medium beige head. Sweet aroma with burned malt, bourbon and chocolate. Sweet flavour with burned malt, bourbon, dark chocolate, vanilla and coffee. Finished sweet with warming alcohol.

Deep amber/copper coloured body with a dense tan head. Aroma of oak, vanilla, whiskey, alcohol and tons of malt - very nice and super potent. Full-bodied; Strong flavoured beer with malt, vanilla and oak by far the strongest, with brown sugar, pit fruits, raisins and alcohol also noticeable. Aftertaste has quite the complexity - very nice and showing a lot of the oaky characteristics! Overall, a great beer and definitely a barley wine to try if you like the style. I just hate the size of the bottle, but aside from that - definitely worth trying. Get a couple (or 10) friends and enjoy this one! I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Ramsey Liquors in Ramsey, New Jersey on 19-January-2009, sampled at home in Washington on 23-May-2009.

750ml 2008 bottle, drank in May 2009. Opaque brown-black color. Minimal, lacy around the edges, head. The aroma is smooth and chocolaty, not unlike a full bodied porter, a hint of coffee. The taste is warm, full, and bitter sweet. Excellently rounded out, these is some bourbon in the syrupy smoothness, but it doesnt dominate the flavor profile. Somewhat bitter cocoa dry, there is some accompanying vanilla caramel. Awesome beer.
