Dark brown with a thin caramel coloured head. Has a rich chocolate-caramel aroma with perhaps a whiff of wood smoke. Caramel accented palate with a rich molasses note, woody accents. Very full, sugary and almost sticky body. Very subtle dark fruits. Really tasty, unique strong stout.

Aroma: The nose is somewhat floral, some spice, yeast, light funk, and a drop of citrus
Appearance: Cloudy golden-orange color with a thick foamy white head that leaves lots of lace
Flavor: Flavor of yeasty malt flavor, solid amount of funk, pepper/spice, mildly sour, floral and earthy hops
Palate: Medium body with a bubbly/tingly mouthfeel and a nice drinkability
Overall Impression: My first Pretty Things beer, this stuff is pretty enjoyable. Pretty much what I'd like to see in saison. The funk here is present in both the nose and the flavor (more so in the flavor), but it is the right amount for my tastebuds. Really just a well-made saison, good stuff.

22oz bottle at the DC local tasting. Pours a translucent copper, amber with a cloudy white head. Aroma is mostly pitted fruits, a little yeast. Flavor is sweet, fruity, caramel, plums. Medium bodied.

Bottle pour at the Pony Bar. Awesome beer. Beautifully hopped with equal sweet maltiness to match. Pours an amber-yellow with a subtle cream head. Earthy hop aroma. Flavor is sweet and diverse, with mild fruit notes and light bitterness. Nicely carbonated, crisp but smooth, this beer was a pleasure.

Bottle (batch 3, October 2009) thanks to thirdeye11. Pours with a small off-white head and a deep brown body. Aroma of caramel, plum, clove, spice, bread, pear and alcohol. Taste is pear, seawater, plum and husky grain (cannot read one part of the taste descriptors). Light bubbles, creamy mouthfeel.

Hazy with a nice orangey-tan glow. Rocky head. Gentle aroma is a little bit floral. The flavour is quite orangey, heavy-handed with coriander. Light floral character and soft malts. The beer improves with food, as the spice is cut somewhat, lending the beer better balance.

Bomber from Wine Specialist. Nov. 2009/Batch 10 Pours orange gold with avast creamy white head; aroma is mildy sour and funky. Medium body with foamy/mild carbonation. Flavor is citrus, sour and mild farmhouse comes up. Very fresh. Finishes clean. Excellent. Very.

bottle, pours deep gold/orange with a medium white head. Aroma is sweet floral and honey with lots of fruity esters. Sweet corn and wheat with hay and grass, touches of honey, flower petals, and some black pepper. Nice lingering spice and yeast in the finish. Solid saison!

American Bar in Amsterdam ...amber ... big big foam head... think this was keg ... spicy yeasty lemon ... soft citrus ... mellow with a slight herbal lilt... quite nice bottle at home ... golden hazy amberr ... white head ... big bitter spiced ... soft lemon ... nice ... but really bitter for a saison 3.6

Bottle batch 3. Pours a hazy light brown with a small tan head. Aroma has notes of grain, dough, and dark fruits. Flavor is nice and smooth with a mainly malt and yeast flavor with a nice undertone of dark fruits and a touch of alcohol.
