Description
Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project began on a shoestring budget in 2008. We exist to allow 20 year professional brewer Dann Paquette to make an honest living while giving his imagination free reign. We brew our beers in other people's breweries because we can't afford our own. We enjoy the up-at-dawn lifestyle and the freedom to brew beers of our own imagining. We brew all our beers ourselves: Dann brews and formulates, Martha mills in. We dream up our beers together, inspired by Europe, by history, and by BEER and all it can be. We are based in Somerville, but brew mostly in Westport, MA, hence the early mornings. Cheers!

Sampled on tap at Sunset Grill Allston. Pours a translucent, hazy blonde with a frothy white head. Nose is perfume, flowers, Belgian yeast, light spice, some light citrus. Flavor is sweet, a little peppery, flower petals, light herbs. Medium bodied, lightly chalky. Don’t know if I liked this as much because of all the IPAs I had that night, but I thought this was enjoyable.

Location: Cask at Rattle 'N Hum, 4/17/10
Aroma: The aroma has floral hops, some citrus fruits, herbs, and spice
Appearance: It pours an unclear golden-orange color with minimal head from the cask
Flavor: The taste is medium sweet, with a nice presence of hops and spice for balance
Palate: Medium body, typically smooth cask beer feel, and a nice finish
Overall Impression: This one is quite solid. It works well on cask, allowing the complex flavors to develop on the tongue. A well-made, complex, not to mention tasty brew from a brewery I tend to really like.

the first thing i thought of when i saw this one is that the brewer at buzzards bay went nuts. just looking at the label will make you think your tripping, but this was a fantastic beer, who knows maybe the new venue and name put a new breath of life into the brewer, but whatever the reason, this is a great american saison. crisp with a hint of the hops and zest that make it an original. well done

Tasting at Papsø
Hazy golden color. Spicy aroma, unfortunately with some vegetables too. The flavor is quite sweet for a Saison, with some malt, and more fruits (apricots...) than spices. The final is a bit yeasty. Unimpressive.

A hazy blonde ale with a thick lacing white head. In aroma, nice perfumey malt with chalky notes, bananas, cloves, very smooth and fluffy. In mouth, a classic saison with light herbal hops, nice and smooth orange peels, medium bodied. Very nice. On tap at Redbones, April 3 2010.
