Cask at Brew Wharf, Southwark, London. A golden pour with small white head. Fresh aroma of hops and citrus fruit. Amarillo and Simcoe hops, quite hoppy in a UK sort of way. A bit one dimensional but not bad.

Cask handpull at Brew Wharf, Borough. Thanks to Phil and Steve for brewing this and inviting me to the tapping of the barrel. Gold coloured beer with a bubbly white head. Attractive aroma of hops, citrus, pink grapefruit. The mouthfeel was hit by it being just a bit too cold, but properly conditioned, this would be a very drinkable 5.2% APA. More tasty American citrus hops on the finish. I liked it.

Cask handpull at Brew Wharf. Black, dark brown, no real head. Choc and malt on aroma. Some estery fruit. It’s got a Belgian yeast. Not an authentic dubbel though I thought. But the mlats are quite attractive.

Cask handpull at Brew Wharf. Here with MadMitch on our mini tour of London. Copper, lasting white thin head. Odd beer. Some ok hops. The pale malts are ok if a little understated. Finishing dryness is ok. It’s fine. Decent strong pale bitter.

Cask@The Brew Wharf, London. Very deep ambery ruby, close to black, colour with small beige head. Aroma is smoked wood, some caramel malts, mild alcohol as well as grassyness. Flavour is quite the same, but feels a bit thin as for the palate. Yet it hides the alcohol rather well in the flavour.

Cask handpull at The Brew Wharf. Spicy golden ale. I find it quite drinkable and everyone else is wrong. It’s good. It did really split opinion as to whether it was an ale or a lager and whether it was any good or not. Drinakble spicy golden ale, I thought.

Cask handpull from The Brew Wharf. Sat with Tom, Melissa Cole and Christian the new brewer here. Chestnut clear, lasting beige head. Slightly buttery malt, some Cascade hop. Not as wide in the mouth as you’d expect. Fairly one dimensional in the mouth and flavour. Not as hoppy on the finish as you might expect, but a bit of a grower overall. Christian called it an APA and will brew a pumpkin beer next.
