2012 bottle with jfb and jonas, thanks capflu. Black color with reddish highlight and tan head. Aroma is cocoa, dark chocolate, dark fruits. Taste is dark chocolate, plums, rich feeling. Not infinite density, but a good benchmark ImpStout.

Dark brown coloured body with a cola glow at the bottom and a decent, single centimetre tall light brown head - only about 50% opaque, pretty light for the style. Aroma of milk, lactose, nuts, earth, caramel, raisins and a bit of metal - interesting. Medium-bodied; Strong malt and metal flavour at first with raisins, some pungent smoke and earth and little else. Aftertaste is pretty boring and more fitting for an old ale or a typical porter and not a baltic porter. Overall, definitely not worth searching out nor buying this if you can still find it in a store, and not even fathomable to buy this then bring it back home across the whole of Canada and the USA to drink it at home, like I did! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Legacy Liqour Store in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on 08-June-2015 for CA$9,45 sampled at home in Washington on 08-October-2015, four months later.

Bouteille 650ml. Gracieuseté de Erik-P lors du CanBIF Fall 2015, Thanks Erik! Couleur orangée légèrement voilée, mousse beige pâle aérée laissant une belle dentelle. Arôme de pamplemousse, houblon résineux, écorce de citron, touche poivrée. Goût d’agrumes, malt mielleux, houblon résineux, amertume plutôt élevée, levure. Carbonatation moyenne-faible, corps moyen-dense.

Bottle. Hazy dark blonde, so a little dull-looking. Thin, bubbly head. The aroma is hoppy first and foremost, with sticky pale malts and a touch of estery (peach) notes. Has a fairly estery character, again some gummy, stodgy pale malts and a slightly peachy, perfumey finish with just a touch of bitterness. Overall, a pleasant IPA but the malts are gummier than dollar store gnocchi and that obfuscates the yeast and hops.

Crisp very slightly hazy amber and light copper coloured body with a nice, two centimetre tall light off-white head. Aroma of very pungent grassy, piney and citrusey hops with some light metallic notes and a bit of alcohol noticeable. Medium-bodied; Very grassy and herbal flavour up front from the hops with some decidedly pungent notes at the end with a good balance of malt. Aftertaste shows a light piney flavour with some lighter malt notes, a bit of alcohol and some fresh cut grass flavour as well. Overall, a nice PNW IPA with a bit more grass than those from the USA and much less malt, making this on par with a decent West Coast IPA in total. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Steamworks Liqour Store in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on 08-June-2015 for CA$6,90 sampled at home in Washington on 30-August-2015.

Bottle: Poured a black color porter with a nice dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of chocolate malt with light dry roasted notes is interesting. Taste is dominated by chocolate malt notes with some dry roasted malt and a dry aftertaste. Body is pretty full for style with nice creamy touch and good carbonation. Not a style that I seek often but this one was enjoyable.

650 ml bottle. Pours a clear gold with full head. Aromas of grass, pineapple, pine and citrus. Flavors of resin, bitter citrus, spruce/cedar and unsweetened gummy fruit. Can’t get any of the wild yeast - maybe too young. Like a fat Sartori Harvest. Hophead heaven.
