Description
The recipe for Bourgogne des Flandres was passed on to other family breweries under the watchful eye of Michel Van Houtryve. From 1985 onwards Bourgogne des Flandres was brewed at Timmermans Brewery in Itterbeek, the oldest Lambic brewery in he world. In 1993 John Martin took over Timmermans Brewery. As a result, Bourgogne des Flanders ended up in the Martin’s Finest Beer Selection among other classics.

With Anthony Martin at the helm of the company, Bourgogne des Flandres became part of the Finest Beer Selection and its reputation was reaffirmed with the creation of a new brewery just a stone’s throw from the original Den Os Brewery in 2015.

Pajiza algo turbia. Con espuma muy abundante, de buena retención. Aroma a levadura belga, esteres frutales y notas especiadas. En boca es punzante de gas, quizás algo excesivo pero refrescante. Rico sabor de base malteada con bastantes notas especiadas y de vainilla, y un punto ligeramente ácido de caracter cítrico

13 September 2025. At 17de Brugs Bierfestival. Cheers to the whole crew!

Grain, plum, apple, biscuit. Sweet apple & pear, biscuit. Grassy hops, green fruit. Quite generic, not what I normally expect from the BdF crew.

31/8/2025. Bottle shared by Colin, cheers. Good pour. Aroma is funky, touch woody, tart citrus, white grape. Nice white wine acidic tartness and tangy bittersweet. Medium body, some nice sparkle to the carbonation. Long finish. Enjoyable.

Draught @ Bourgogne des Flandres, Bruges. Hazed gold appearance, good white head. Aroma presents quite a hoppy citrus air, flavour profile sees bright citrus brought to the fore, good hoppy bitter bite. Pretty flavoursome for the strength. Nice.
