Description

Whole Foods Market, DC 500ml ($5): Pours a brownish color (Schneider Weisse or Erdinger Oktoberfest) with a white head. Aroma is the usual of banana and spice, but not as strong as some other weiss biers out there. Flavor is much in the same vein, but there is a watery element in there that makes the flavors not that intense. Kind of on the sweet side and a few interesting spicy notes that make this a little different than other weiss beers.

50cl bottle. Pours a very muddy brown colour, with steady bubbles and a generous head. The nose has banana and toffee. The taste has slightly sweet lemon and banana, some demerara sugar too. The palate is medium bodied, some good creamy texture and a fairly clean finish. Overall, a decent weiss but not hitting the dizzy heights of some of the others.

50cl bottle, flip-top. Poured hazy cola color with a bubbly head. Sweet banana and yeast aroma, flavor is bubblegum, riped banana and yeast. Bit too sweet. Very dark for a hefeweizen, but the flavor reveals that it is not a dunkelweizen.

Vegetal raisin and green bean aroma. Clear tea colored, thick head, fair retention. Muted banana creme initially, yielding to raisins and white grapes. This is a hefeweizen? Dunkelweizen is more likely, in both flavor and color.

Brown beer with medium and blond head. Aroma is sour and wheatish, some toffee and roastiness. Flavour is quite refreshning, wheats, yeasts, bananas, some roastiness and spicyness and carnations. Lot of carbonation, but still nice to drink. Balanced, slightly roasted hefe, more refreshning would be great.

Murky pale brown coloured, medium sized creamy off-white head, fruity nose. Sweet wheaty, yeasty, caramel and toffee with notes of hops, berries and banana. Touch of spices in the finish. Lots of sediment at the bottom. Easy drinkable and refreshing weizen.
