Description

Bottle: Golden, hazy, no head to speak of; moderate sweetish-wheaty nose with a very light mouldy-cellary tone; light to moderate sweetish-sourish flavour, light bodied, but not watery, smooth; light to moderate sweetish-sourish finish with a light fruity touch. Presumably the best light Weizen I’ve ever had........

(swing top bottle, as Martl Weisse, 5.1%) Hazy, brown colour with a huge off-white foamy head. Slightly sweet wheat-malty and distinctively berry fruity aroma with a tinge of cloves. Sourish fruity flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Slightly yeasty wheat-malty and fruity, minimal toasty and earthy taste with notes of black- and redcurrant; sourish wheaty and fruity, slightly tart finish. Refreshing but not very complex Ur-Weisse (13.VIII.09).

Bottle, from trade with Papsoe. It’s a hazy, orange-golden to brown beer with a rocky, off-white head. Some banana and caramel in ther aroma, along with a little beef-stock maltyness and a chalky touch. The flavor is much the same, with the chalkyness more evident. Medium to full body. Malty-sweet finish with banana, caramel and chalk. I was looking forward to this one, but it turned out to be a rather boring weizenbock, actually not so very weizenbock-ish either. (090501)
