Description

500 mL bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours lightly hazy and dark brown with a large tan head. Decent head retention and lacing. The aroma is very yeasty with considerable spice and a bit of breadiness. The taste is caramel, bread, spice, citrus. Medium bodied. Pretty good beer.

dark brown with a medium beige short lasting head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel and hints of rye toffee. Sweet flavour with rasted malt, roasted caramel and chocolate. Finished sweet. Didn’t pick up any wheat. Probably why I liked it.

Botte. Prune, banana, chocolate malt and astringent alcohol aroma. Cloudy dark brown color with giant head initially but quickly fades. Sweet prune, banana, toffee malt flavor with mild astringent finish. A tad bit rough but overall a nice beer.

Swing-top bottle. Clove, banana, and chocolate malt aroma. Cloudy dark brown color with moderate head. Sweet clove/cinnamon and slightly bitter chocolate malt flavor. Very nice - would be spectacular if it had more body.

Bottle. Sweet banana, orange, clove, and wheat malt aroma - very nice. Cloudy medium brown-yellow color with giant, long lasting tan head. Strong clove flavor dominates but banana/orange and wheat malt flavors still quite apparent. Finishes a bit light. A solid Hefe.

(bottle) Cloudy, murky orange golden colour with a non-persistent frothy, slightly off-white head. Yeasty, moderately sweet and distinctively wheaty nose with lighter fruity notes of banana and clovy spices. Moderately sweet and slightly sour flavour, light bodied with a medium carbonation. Good wheat-accentuation with a moderate fruit-character; wheaty, fruity and slightly sourish, quite refreshing Finish. A light but decent Weizen. 16.IX.09

Bottled. An unclear dark golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of yeast, wheat and fruit - among them a light note of banana. The flavor is sweet wheaty with lighter notes of fruit and cardboard. The body is thin and the beer is boring. Thanks yespr for sharing.
