Description
Two brewers, Jean-Yves Nauroy (42 years old, from Lorraine, saxophonist, bearded fisherman, dad and now brewer) and Régis Barth (38 years old, from Lorraine, scribe, grumbler, all fired up, dad and now brewer) welcome you in their brewery installed at the back of the barn in May 2005, self-financed, tinkered with, adapted and assembled by them.
Most of it consists of adapted, salvaged or second-hand equipment. Since July 1, 2007, they have been renovating an old barn and stable in the village of Revermont Jura, La Ferté. They started brewing there in June 2008 with the aim of increasing production to a livable level, ie 300 hl per year or 3,500 bottles to be marketed per month.

Shared 75cl bottle. Slightly hazy dark golden with average sized white head. Sweet malts, light cocoa, peppery, fruity with some pineapple, red apple, roasted nuts, yeasty. Light sweet, saison like peppery yeast with tart touch, going into light bitter to medium finish. Very interesting beer, like a mix between a saison and English IPA with some roasted notes even though it’s a very light colored beer. Good French farmhouse ale, nice one.

Bottle @ morning after WWT IV. Clear amber color, soapy off-white head that diminishes quickly. Smell and taste malts, floral hoppyness, blossom, moderate bitter. Decent IPA.

75cl bottle. Clear Amber with big creamy light orange head. Sweet malts with some caramel and sugared orange rind. Pine and lots of grapefruit. Taste is sweet at first with a strong bitterness coming through. Finish is strong bitter with lingering sweetness. Medium to full bodied. Nice stuff, especially on the nose.

750 ml. bottle sampled @ Vini, Birre, Ribelli 2014. Murky amber, little bubbles. Nose is bitter fruity apple, cinnamon, maybe some Sorachi Ace? Neat; Taste unfortunately carries notes of rotting yeast, tad mould, bitter apple, bitter leaves. Medium body. Still okay but could have been more.
