Description
Two brewers, Jean-Yves Nauroy (42 years old, from Lorraine, saxophonist, bearded fisherman, dad and now brewer) and Régis Barth (38 years old, from Lorraine, scribe, grumbler, all fired up, dad and now brewer) welcome you in their brewery installed at the back of the barn in May 2005, self-financed, tinkered with, adapted and assembled by them.

Most of it consists of adapted, salvaged or second-hand equipment. Since July 1, 2007, they have been renovating an old barn and stable in the village of Revermont Jura, La Ferté. They started brewing there in June 2008 with the aim of increasing production to a livable level, ie 300 hl per year or 3,500 bottles to be marketed per month.

Bottle shared at Moeder Lambic. Pours clear amber brown with a tiny ring head. Aroma of tart fruits, dusty cobweb cellar, nutty notes coming out strongly from the wine, wood, caramel and toffee. Flavour is moderate sweet, above light bitter and light to light moderate sour. Medium bodied with near flat carbonation.

Bottle split at CBC Clerko, thanks to Fergus, 10/09/15. Lightly hazed golden with a decent off white covering. Nose is earthy hop, straw, orange, toasted malt. Taste comprises soft bread dough, melon, tangerine, straw, hint of lemon. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok but pretty pedestrian for style ... needs hopping up !

Bottle thanks to Fergus. It pours murky gold with a medium white head. The nose is toasted grain, doughy malt, soft orange citrus and apricot jam. The taste is crisp, bitter, mild sweetness, toasted grass, white bread, light paper and lemon peel with a dry, grassy finish. Light - medium body and average carbonation. Pretty alright.

Bottle shared at a CBC Clerkenwell tasting - London. Big thanks to Fergus for this one. Pours clearish yellow with a creamy white head. The nose holds dry wheat, hay, pale grains. Light sweet flavor with some bitter grain husk, grass, pine needles. Light bodied with average carbonation. Dry and bitter on the finish, with more grass and grain. So so.

Small, light-beige head over well-carbonated, fully hazy red-brown beer. Sourish, lactic acid, vinous, red fruit, wood aromas. Woody, lactic acid, milkchocolate (if with hardly any sweetness), fruity esters, red/blue fruit mostly. Acidthinning, quite slick and yet some body left. Dry palate, long lasting flavours. Excellent Oud Bruin... made in France! Thanks to whomever bestowed this on me! (Jean?)
