Description
Two brewers, Jean-Yves Nauroy (42 years old, from Lorraine, saxophonist, bearded fisherman, dad and now brewer) and Régis Barth (38 years old, from Lorraine, scribe, grumbler, all fired up, dad and now brewer) welcome you in their brewery installed at the back of the barn in May 2005, self-financed, tinkered with, adapted and assembled by them.

Most of it consists of adapted, salvaged or second-hand equipment. Since July 1, 2007, they have been renovating an old barn and stable in the village of Revermont Jura, La Ferté. They started brewing there in June 2008 with the aim of increasing production to a livable level, ie 300 hl per year or 3,500 bottles to be marketed per month.

Bottle sample @ Vini, Birre, Ribelli ’14, Bruxelles.

Bottle sample @ Vini, Birre, Ribelli ’14, Bruxelles. Note un petit côté grillé voire caramélisé sucré.

16/04 Marko’s 0.75 l bottle, great thanks for sharing! It poured hazy dark brown body with medium to big brown head. Citrus and herbal hop aroma, light roasted malts. Flavor was slightly more sweet though, and building up towards finish, caramel, lightly roasted malt, fruity, slightly herbal bitter. Medium to full bodied with long, especially sweet nd a bit warming aftertaste. More like a hoppy Belgian style ale than anything close to Imperial stout, but still pleasant.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours an opaque black with a huge and frothy light brown head with good retention. Sweet roast and vanilla in the nose. Rich body, dark roast - heavily burned - massively bitter also. A bit rough around the egdes, but considering it’s French it’s not a horrible attempt at an Imperial Stout. 270413

0.75l bottle courtesy of my mate Emil who got it in Besançon (huge thanks!). Shared with heavy and ogivlado. Opaque brown body.... Coffee mainly in the aroma, mild, very very light tartness, some hop, peachy. Light peachiness in the taste on a heavy malty background, quite light herbal notes. Nice light roastiness. Slightly warming too. Overall a nice beer indeed.
