Description
Two guys born and raised in Croydon met shortly before the London riots in 2011 at a beer festival, and found they both were having thoughts about starting up a new brewery in the area. After nearly a year of test brewing,
planning and trying to find financial backing, The Cronx Brewery was formed in 2012.

In 2016 the Cronx Bar was opened in Boxpark Croydon. Run by a great team, the bar always has a wide selection of real ales and craft beers available.

‘The Cronx’ is a portmanteau of Croydon (Or it’s postcode; CR0) and The Bronx, and has been used as an affectionate tongue in cheek reference to the often much maligned London Borough we call home.

Closed in 2024. In 2925 the brewery site and equipment taken over by Titsey Brewery to use as a 2nd location. Subsequent Cronx beers startes to be brewed again.

RBESG pt 19. Craft Clerkenwell. Grandish Tasting. Cloudy gold beer, no real head. Palate is light, dry and crisp. Indeed we have mildly sour mango and lesser generic fruits. Dry finish. Not bad!

Bottle shared at RBESG 2014. It pours cloudy gold with a tiny head. The nose is soft, sweet, spicy, dough, wheat and grainy notes. The taste is tart grapefruit, unripe mango, light mouth-pucker, mild acidity, five alive fruit juice and light sherbet with a drying finish. Light-medium body and fine carbonation. Tart, juicy and rather drinkable.

Bottle from The Wine Cellar, Sanderstead. It pours hazy golden with a decent white head. The nose is doughy, hay, cream and lemon meringue. The taste is bitter, lemon peel, lemongrass, dough, grass, creaminess and light herbal notes with a dry finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and creamy mouth-feel. Can’t say I’m in love with this hop. Decent beer anyhow.

Cask gravity at CPBF 2014. It pours murky dark brown with minimal head. The nose is sweet Oreos, creamy, chocolate, earth and toast. The taste is bitter-sweet, toasty, coconut, Oreos, vanilla, coconut, eart, coffee and a touch of acidity with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Oreos definitely come through. Surprisingly well balanced. Perhaps condition is a touch lacking. Nice work.
