Description
Cider done right. That means delicious West Country cider made from fresh apple juice, using the best locally-sourced apples. Founded in 2002, we are independent, family-owned and very proud to be based in the oldest working cider mill in the UK, breathing life back into the old building. Our home in the heart of Devon is the perfect micro-climate to grow cider apples and we are blessed with some of the finest bittersweet apple orchards in the world. We press and ferment whole juice from the finest locally sourced fruit, never from concentrate. No artificial flavours or aromas, simply the best natural ingredients, and then let it age to perfection. No shortcuts. The result? Delicious, beautifully balanced and naturally refreshing cider.

Bottled@Rotterdam, Helsinki. Hazy orangeish golden colour with not too much head. Aroma is sweet and ripe apples along with some vanilla, mild sweetish notes from rum as well as some slight alcohol to it. Flavour is vanilla, ripe apples along with some green and sweet apples along with some slight alcohol and some nice barrel notes. A rather tasty one.

Bottled at PBF. Almost clear pale golden. Rich aroma of candyish apples and leather. Mid sweet, gently sparkling with medium body. Ripe appkes, notes of leather, sligjht apple skin bitterness.

50 cl bottle @ PBF
Aroma has ripe, finnish apples and a floury feeling. Also some fruit sugar. Rather leathery palate. Flavour has ripe apples and a floury feeling. Too floury, I expected more. I like the taste of real apples here, but this is just too light.

Bottled@Stones, Helsinki. Slightly hazy yellow colour, no head. Aroma is apples, nectar, some mild vanilla and yeasty notes. Flavour is fruity, floral, some apples and mild vanilla to it. Balanced and refreshing. On the quite dry side, recommended by the waitress as I wanted something lambic tart and dry... Not bad though, and probably the driest of the ones they had on stock.

Bottled@Black Door, Helsinki. Yellowish golden colour with a small white head that disappears quite fast. Aroma is sweet and green apples along with some mild vanilla and a bit sugary feeling to it. Flavour is sweet apples, with some tart apples as well. Nicely carbonated, where the carbonation helps the quite sweet cider get to a refreshing level. Good thirst quencher, and not so sugary in the flavour.

Bag in a box at County Hotel Ashford. Clear gold no head. Apple juice aroma. Remarkable really as you can’t taste the alcohol. Medium sweetness with a little dryness on the finish. Decent

Odd that we can get this in Japan consider how rare the cider is. No head, hazy golden color, moderately sweet apple nose with a touch of spice. Sweet mouth. Nice balance, but lacks complexity. Quenching, but undistinguished.

Keg at the Catford Bridge Tavern, London. Pours clear (not cloudy) gold, lightly effervescent. Sugary green apple aroma. Medium sweet flavor, a touch syrupy though still bright, apple sugars. Light to medium bodied with fine, spritzy carbonation. Sweet finish, ripe green apples, touches of white sugar. So so.
