Description
Cider done right. That means delicious West Country cider made from fresh apple juice, using the best locally-sourced apples. Founded in 2002, we are independent, family-owned and very proud to be based in the oldest working cider mill in the UK, breathing life back into the old building. Our home in the heart of Devon is the perfect micro-climate to grow cider apples and we are blessed with some of the finest bittersweet apple orchards in the world. We press and ferment whole juice from the finest locally sourced fruit, never from concentrate. No artificial flavours or aromas, simply the best natural ingredients, and then let it age to perfection. No shortcuts. The result? Delicious, beautifully balanced and naturally refreshing cider.

Cask @ Black Bull Inn, Bangor. Pale yellow, almost clear like water. Has an initial rhubarb kick with a small lingering taste of the vegetable for the rest of the time. Ordinary aroma.

500ml bottle. Hazy yellow colour, no head and aroma of sharp sourish apple. Taste is mellow sweetish apple, fruity with barnyard & leathery notes. Smooth juicy mouthfeel, medium bodied, low carbonation, dryish and alittle residual sweetness at the finish. Quite drinkable.

Cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green, 2/03/14 Clear golden with little in the way of a head. Nose is apple skins, strawberry twang, light smoke, orchard woodiness. Taste comprises strawberry chews, pretty sweet stuff, light apple, hint of smoke. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close/ So so - too sweet for my liking.

Cask @ Trades Club. Clean, crisp and golden. Good aroma but even better in its easy to drink texture that enhances its fruit appeal.

From a bladder bag at the Arkwright Arms, just off the ’1’, 06/10/13. Clear copper with no head. Nose is apples, blackcurrant squash, apple blackcurrant chews. Taste comprises apples, light smoke, apple and blackberry crumble, sugars. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, sweet close. Ok if a little sweet, not one I’d go back to, lookly strangely like a poorly conditioned bitter!
