Description
Cider done right. That means delicious West Country cider made from fresh apple juice, using the best locally-sourced apples. Founded in 2002, we are independent, family-owned and very proud to be based in the oldest working cider mill in the UK, breathing life back into the old building. Our home in the heart of Devon is the perfect micro-climate to grow cider apples and we are blessed with some of the finest bittersweet apple orchards in the world. We press and ferment whole juice from the finest locally sourced fruit, never from concentrate. No artificial flavours or aromas, simply the best natural ingredients, and then let it age to perfection. No shortcuts. The result? Delicious, beautifully balanced and naturally refreshing cider.

Straw colour, smells a bit apple juicy, not like a proper box cider. Mostly tannic, some apple, fairly sweet. Not one of my favourites.

Hazy appearance. The aroma is very tart but the flavour is far sweeter with some honey notes accompanying the apple.

From the cellar (bladder box?) at the Arkwright Arms, Duckmanton, 04/10/13. Clear pale blond with no head. Nose is ginger, light apple, touch of citrus, straw. Taste comprises less ginger, orchard fruit, ginger trace. Medium bodied, fine carbonation. Ok novelty cider, the ginger probably works better than it does in most beers that use it!

Clear pale golden colour, white head. Aroma of apples, wood notes, sweet white wine, apple peel, light brett notes. Dry light bitter flavour, light funk, earth, dry white wine (but without any of the sourness). Bone dry. Lingering dry finish, apple, brett-like notes. Man, I love this stuff. Great cider!

Flavour is vanilla, ripe apples along with some green and sweet apples along with some slight alcohol and some nice barrel notes. A rather tasty one.

50 cl bottle @ PBF
Aroma has ripe, finnish apples and a floury feeling. Also some fruit sugar. Rather leathery palate. Flavour has ripe apples and a floury feeling. Too floury, I expected more. I like the taste of real apples here, but this is just too light.
