Description
St. Peter's is an independent brewery founded in 1996 by John Murphy in former agricultural buildings adjacent to St. Peter’s Hall in St Peter, South Elmham, near Bungay, Suffolk, England. Siting the brewery at St. Peter’s was ideal because of the excellent water quality from our own deep bore-hole. Locally malted barley is used, together with Kentish hops, to produce a range of classical beers (bitters, mild etc.) as well as some more unusual beers such as honey porter and fruit beer.

Fun fact: The oval shape of its signatory 500 ml bottle is based on an 18th-century gin bottle from Gibbstown, by the Delaware River near Philadelphia, USA.

More malty than grapefruity. An nice citric touch to the finish, and the malt flavours are pleasant.

Medium dark, with a slight roasted flavor and medium body - all dead on for this traditional blending of a dark old ale and young light ale. It had a bit of a sharp taste, though, that I found unpalatable.

Dark brown with low visible carbonation. Sweet character with a rich, toffeeish, plummy note. A little bit of tarlike accent towards the finish. Body is light for a beer of this size.

I love that brewer's description up top - delicate ginger taste! Oh yeah. There's nothing delicate about this. It is an absolute attack of ginger and lemon taste. Not really enough beer to back it up, but you have to respect the assertiveness.
