Aroma wasn’t too bad with wet grain yeast and a little bit of fresh hops. What flavor is where it really fell down with a lot of oxidation and bitterness. I definitely wouldn’t get another one of these.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, chestnut-brown colour with a mid-sized off-white foamy head. Sweet and mildly toasted aroma with notes of rye and wheat, accompanied by fruity notes of dark berries, cherries, prunes and a whiff of caramel. Moderately sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Slightly juicy and sugary malt character with wheaty notes, berry-fruit and a tinge of cherries towards the moderately sweet and restrained bitter finish. Not my cup of tea. 22.IX.16

Pours cloudy orange brown into the bottle with a medium head that soon fades. Aroma is bread, malt, and a dash of honey. Taste is malty, grainy, with a vague sour pineapple undertone. Okay.

33cl bottle. Pours clear dark orange golden colour with a huge good lasting off-white head. Aroma of aromatic hops, spices, wheat. Taste of wheat, rye, dry fruity hops, mild banana and clove, okay!

Bottle, 75cl. As Matthias Müller La Prima. A super-gusher producing a huge off-white head. Some lacing. Fruity aroma with peaches, banana, a light Belgian yeasty touch and some spice notes and a light malty hint. Orange notes. It’s quite dry on the palate, rather effervescent, and medium bodied, with a pleasant bitterness. Oranges, some banana and spices and a malty backdrop. Long orangey, spiced and yeasty finish. A quite decent one, sort of crossover between an American pale ale, a Belgian ale and a German pilsner. 160610

Arôme au nez parfumé, fleuri assez noble, malt fin pils voire de carapils. Palais fleuri, houblon noble restant assez fleuri, base de malt pils, assez sec, et une fine note de thé vert sur la fin.

75cl bottle sample @ Haand fest ’16, Drammen. Shared with the Norwegian tasting crew. These Mattias Müller entries need some serious fixing. Dorée, col blanc. Arôme au nez fruité, fleuri rétro malté avec une petite douceur rappelant le froment. Palais est malté avec un léger parfum de levure et froment. Le tout est agréablement bien fleuri avec un fini léger et épicé, amertume noble. L’épeautre confère peut-être plus de consistance.

50cl bottle as Hauzenberger Granit Weiße. Pours hazy orange golden colour with a huge good lating off-white head. Aroma is floral, yeasty, some fruits. Taste of spicy malt, clove, dry fruits, nothing special.
