Bottle split at the Cotteridge Convention, thanks to Jezza, 24/01/15. Clear golden amber with a decent light beige top. Nose is woody, toffee, dark fruits, biscuit malt. Taste comprises straw, must, dark fruit, light citric leanings. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close with a bitter scrub. So so bitter.

Cask. Amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is fruity, nutty, caramelly and a bit biscuity notes as well. Flavour is fruity, caramelly, nutty, mildly fudgelike notes as well as some resin to it as well.

Cask pint in Montgomery Towers, a Wetherspoons in Shrewsbury on 26th Jan 2015. teak coloured body with a creamy head in texture as well as colour. Malty and earthy but not haggisy. Dark fruits, berries mostly within the flavours, a pleasant tasty brew that I expect will become an annual release if it proves popular with the regular Woods Brewery drinkers.

Cask at the Old Joint Stock; clear golden yellow pour with a small frothy white head, tiniest hint of lemon on the aroma, taste is very bland, feint citrus pale malts a bit watery.

Part of 2013 backlog. Pale gold colour with thick white head. Aroma is fruity, taste is slightly sweet, malty, and fruit. Bitter finish.

Clear reddish beer with light spicy aroma. Flvour follows suit, spicy fruit, a decent amount of hop and malt in there too. It’s nothing special and it doesn’t feel like an especially Christmassy beer but it’s fairly drinkable all the same.
