From cask at Royal Albert, Deptford, with the Art and Young People research group at UiA. Dark brown to ebony. Some pale brown head. Superb taste of roasted malt, coffee, and rye bread. Bitterness is lingering on.

Deep brown with a tinge of red, creamy looking tan head and fruit malt on the nose. Smooth and semi-creamy, tastes a little like Christmas cake mix with some earthy hop character and a dry, very slightly bitter finish

Half-Pint, cask ale at Flying Horse (JDW). Stable beige head over a deep mahogany coloured body, scattered lacing. Moderate aromas of earthy malts and dried fruits. Balanced taste character with caramel malts, hazelnuts, and a bite of stewed fruits. Mid-sweet malt-driven end, slightly roasted. Okay Yuletide feel. (Gatwick, 10.12.2023).
