(Bottle 75 cl) Orange golden, hazy ale with a thick creamy head. Incredible fruity aroma. Very, very aromatic but at the same time almost suffocatingly sweet. A beer that should definitely be enjoyed in small quantities. 140604 and 061297

Bottle. Weak malty aroma. Brown colour, small head. Flavour is malty and slightly peppery. Pointy aniseed aftertaste. Good body, slightly swelling mouthfeel. Hint of liquorice aftertaste. Not as peppery (or as good) as I expected. 6 3 8 3 18 Bottle, 9%, BB 2006, last year. Very fruity aroma, dried fruits and a little coriander. Hazy brown colour, some floaties. Very small light brown head. The flavour is slightly sweet, has distinct coriander notes. Some alcohol bitterness, but OK rounded. 7 3 8 4 18

Bottle. Brown ber with a beige head. Fruity, yeasty aroma Rich and complex beer with a rich malt profile and yeast, and date/fig fruit along with molasses. Very good. Some lingering sweetness, but not enough to take anything away.

(Bottle 33 cl) Orange-blond beer with a lot of sediments and no head to speak of. High carbonation. Very aromatic and quite dry - almost like a "Tripel" although there’s less alcohol here. Quite perfumed and "herbal", but it changes character when the sediments is in the glass. Special. 030304

Bottled (BBE 2004)
Muddy orange color, small tight white head. Nose is spicey: orange peels and also spiritus fortus. Medium-bodied, soft. Malty with orange peels also in the flavor, slightly sour with metallic and leather flavors. Quite thin palate. Fruity in the finish, lightly bitter aftertaste. Like witbier without wheat. Quite a dissapointment, because Abbaye des Rocs usually means great brews.

330 ml bottle, bought at Pivni Galerie, Prague. Murky brown colour with floaties, enormous lingering head. Strong fruity aroma (cherries, prunes) with notes of leather, caramel and oak, hints of barnyard. Flavour is intensely oaky and malty with notes of smoke, dried fruits and spices. Alcohol is evident. Moderate sweetness, bitter and oaky aftertaste. Not for beginners this one.

Bottle. Hazy mahogony color with a big beige head. Fruity, yeasty, malty aroma with a slightly sour tinge. Cocoa, malt, yeast, stone fruit (peach, cherry) flavor mixing with some brown sugar to give a good complex beer. Dry finish

Bottle: Poured a light orange color ale with a nice foamy white head with standard retention. Aroma is a mix between yeast and malt with some subtle spices. Taste is quite enjoyable with again the yeast coming on top. Floral aspect of this beer is very enjoyable and body is medium. Overall, this is a good standard Belgian Ale.
