A hazy golden ale with a thin white head. A pleasant pungeant aroma of coriander, ornages and spices. In mouth, a nice clove and banana, oily mouthfeel, very rich and smooth. good stuff. On tap at brewpub, Jan. 2009.

Dégustée en fût au brouepub. De couleur ambrée et claire. Nez de houblon herbeux aux notes florales et résineuses, moyen-léger fruité (agrumes), malté de grains de céréales avec de faibles notes de caramel. Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen-fort et une texture aux petites notes résineuses. Goût moyennement amer de houblon herbeux (herbes fraîches et mouillées) et aux notes résineuses/citriques (une amertume présente durant toute la gorgée) accompagné d’un moyen goût fruité (agrumes) lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un moyen goût malté de grains de céréales avec des notes de caramel puis en finale l’on assiste à un regain d’amertume de houblon plus herbeux avec de légères notes florales. Post-goût long-moyen et un peu sec, moyennement amer de houblon herbeux, légèrement floral et aux notes résineuses ainsi qu’avec un léger goût fruité (zest d’agrumes). (automne 2006)

Nez malté de grains de céréales fraîches, léger de caramel doux et d’épices, légèrement fruité (agrumes) et léger de houblon herbeux aux notes florales. Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen-fort et une texture aux notes crémeuses et huileuses. Moyen-léger goût épicé accompagné d’un moyen goût fruité (agrumes) lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un goût malté de grains de céréales, moyen de caramel (traces de butterscotch) avec des traces de pain puis en finale l’on retrouve une légère amertume de houblon herbeux (quelques notes florales) ainsi que des petites notes de noix. Post-goût moyen, légèrement amer de houblon herbeux avec un petit goût fruité (zest d’agrumes). (automne 2006)

A golden amber ale with a thick off white head. Wonderful resinous hops, floral, with citrus points. In mouth, a crisp hoppy ale with resinous hops, a bit of menthol, alcohol. Very nice. Tasted at Mondiale 2008, June 1 2008. 8-4-8-4-15
Anniversaire 2012: A hazed orange amber with a thin off white head. In aroma, a must sweet vinous malt with incense, orange pulp, a bit of sweat. In mouth, a pungent ale with dry crisp biscuit malt, roasted notes, piney and grassy, intense and bitter finale. 8-3-7-3-13.

This brewer seems most at home with belgian styles, so this was a little weak, but still pretty tasty - dark ruby, nearly black beer - a very roasty IS, with strong coffee bitterness and some heavy notes of tobacco - alcohol is warming, but not overpowering - there is an almost berry-like fruitiness near the finish, but the for the most part the beer is heavy on the coffee and bitter chocolate - pretty nice.

The batch served at the brewpub on 8/21/08 stated 7% abv - perhaps a slight recipe change? - anyway, this was another great beer from them - hazy golden pour, with a soapy, thick head - lovely aroma of lavender-steeped honey, wildflowers, a bit of spices - the flavor starts honey sweet, but on the whole it is not as sweet as the aroma suggests - a lot of herbal character and subtle peppery spice cut off the sweetness - finishes refreshing, and a bit hoppy and crisp - nice.

"Saison au Brett," it said on the board - "oh hell yes," I exclaimed - and it’s good! - much more balanced brett character than in other brett saisons - beautiful hazy orange pour, with a lasting, soapy lace - slightly wheaty, refreshingly crisp aroma, with just a hint of brett character - creamy, yet refreshing palate - quite dry, with just a hint of bready malt - some crisp, bitter herbs - the brett is very young, and adds a gentle character that compliments the lemony tartness of the beer, as well a the slightest earth, leathery quality far in the back at the finish - there is a hint of sweetness that detracts from the dryness/tartness, but otherwise this is phenomenal.

Cloudy amber ale, with a clingy lace - an interesting aroma of toasted grains (rye?), with subtle spices - very creamy mouthfeel - a lot of bittering agents in the flavor that don’t appear to be hops (yarrow, juniper) - full-bodied for the style - grainy and bready (toast) - a little tart and crisp at the end - nice.

Rated as Pale Ale Américaine on Dec. 23 2006. An orange amber ale with a thin off white head, lacing. A pleasant aroma of floral hops, lightly resinous, with light sustaining malt. In mouth, a light hoppy ale, with floral hops, resinous finish, crisp malt, light grapefruits. Good little pale ale.
