Cask at the Metro Lounge, Amersham. Poured a clear medium amber colour with a short-lived frothy white head. The aroma is malt, light caramel, light woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a smooth, sweet caramel, nutty, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

(Cask at White Horse on Parsons Green, 20191017) The beer poured deep amber and clear. Its head was small, white and it lasted long. Aroma had toasted malts, caramel and earth. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were toasted malts, earth, caramel, herbalness and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, hoppy and bitter. A tasty malty brew with hop bite.

[Cask at the Bell, Waltham St Lawrence.] A bright amber pour with a ring of white head; malty aroma with a hint of tangerine as promised; slightly oily in the mouth with a firm vegetal bitterness before a sweet nutty malt body emerges. A pleasantly autumnal bitter.

(Gravity cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 24 Nov 2018) Dark ruby colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with caramel, chocolate and spices (nutmeg, cinnamon). Malty taste with notes of caramel, black rye bread, coffee, a touch of smoke and a dry finish with a mild roasty bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Tasty and well balanced porter. Quite nice.

(Cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 24 Nov 2018) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted, vinous nose with notes of black coffee, liquorice and cacao. Malty, vinous taste with sweet black coffee, sweet liquorice, cacao, raisins, prunes, dried fruit, hints of cinnamon and a balanced coffee bitterness in the finish. Full body, quite sweet. On the sweet side, but really tasty and warming. Very nice.
RB backlog. Plums, caramel, grains, mineralic. Light sweet, mineralic, light bitter, dries up. Slick light medium body with soft carbonation. Good one.
A lovely porter, this. Fairly sweet, some roast, pretty creamy indeed. Very high on carbonation, that's a pity, but the body does not suffer. Sweetened coffee with a few drops of cream, and some licorice blended through as a bonus.
