Description
We are George and Tom Jenkinson, brothers and directors of our family run brewery. Founded in 1980 by our father and mother, Richard and Lesley Jenkinson, we remain the oldest independent brewery in the Chiltern Hills and Buckinghamshire.

Located on an old working farm in the heart of the Chiltern Hills, the emphasis has always been to produce natural, wholesome beers using the best, class A malt and hops sourced in England. Our brewing process mirrors age-old methods and our beers are brewed with skill, passion and integrity. We have always been proud to support British farmers and all of our ingredients have a good provenance.

330ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - cheers Graham!]. Hazy, orangey dark golden to amber colour with average, frothy, slowly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, white head with sulphureous nuances. Somehow muesli-like aroma, notes of fruit, dried fruit, cereals, a touch of honey, caramel, raisin, dried apricot, yellow apple, toffee. Taste is sweet-ish malty and slightly fruity hoppy, notes of marzipan, honey, dried fruit, yellow apple, hints of raisin, dried apricot, a touch of cereals, caramel, toffee, bitter hoppy counterpart; minimally overcarbonated. Well balanced, harmonious and mature - in the sense of a constantly refined recipe over the years.

[Cask at the Bell, Waltham St Lawrence.] A bright golden amber pour with a thin white head and attractive lacing on the glass; malty aroma; simple caramel malt taste; then a drier finish with a touch of spice and biscuit. A straightforward bitter which could easily be twice the strength.

[Cask at the Bell, Waltham St Lawrence.] A beautiful deep tawny coloured pour with a thin oatmeal head; rich vinous aroma, seeming much stronger than 5%; smooth in the mouth with a sweet Demerara sugar taste, then oaked red wine; leading to a dry tannin finish with traces of chocolate. Superb.
