Description
We started Braybrooke in 2017 with just one aim - to make really good lager. Beer doesn’t have to be complicated as long as it’s made in the right way with a commitment to quality. That’s exactly what we’re doing, brewing proper lager in the heart of the English countryside, near Market Harborough.

Keg draught at the Two-Tailed Lion, Leicester. Very dark mahogany, translucent, with a small beige/khaki head. Aroma of glacé cherries, brandy, treacle. It's muted but gorgeous. Tastes extremely sweet with lots of muscovado sugar, more cherry, some herbal notes. Slight hop bitterness closer to the finish but its generally a very sweet beer. Big syrupy body with carbonation on the low side. Wonderful.

Keg draught at Two-Tailed Lion, Leicester. Mid- to dark gold, clear with a tiny white head. Light aroma, mostly toffee, honey, toast and grain. Sweet taste, some caramel and biscuit notes with a notably bitter finish. Body's a bit oily and carbonation is lower that I would have expected. I like a lot of Braybrooke's output but honestly I'm underwhelmed by this one.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from Bottle Apostle, South Hackney. Pours clear, deep brown with a foamy, khaki head. Moderate sweetness, fruity, some roast, berries, mild earthy notes, hints of toasted caramel. Light bodied with average carbonation. Nicely balanced finish, some sweet brown bread, more berries, mild roast. Very drinkable.
