Pours brown from the bottle. The frothy light tan head slowly subsides. Aroma is caramel and roasted grains. Taste is very mildly bitter up front with a strongly roasted character. Hints of grains, tobacco and ash. Body is medium, carbonation is mild, there is a subtle warmth at the finish. Overall a pretty decent dark lager.

500ml bottle. Clear mahogany colour with deep ruby glimmer and average, thick, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Mild roasty, minimally smoky (?), dark malty aroma, hints of chocolate an droasted nuts. Taste is minimally sweet dark malty, toasty, minimally nutty, hints of malt lozenge, chocolate, a touch of husk; smooth and soft palate.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Starts mild but not washy, modest dry. Light spicy notes. Shy hoppy background. Finish well balanced, quite drinkable. Not bad.

GBBF Day 3. Keg. Hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Creamy sweet malts,. Sweet floralness well blended with banana esters. Light citrus underneatg, Smooth finish. Clean German beer.

"Vierzehnheiligener Bier Nothelfer Erntebier", 5,1 %, Flasche (50 cl) von Hopfen & Malz, Berlin. Ein Bier mit Gersten-, Roggen- und Weizenmalz. - Satt bronzegelb, klar, bescheidene Schaumbildung. - In der Nase würzig-karamelliges Malz, hopfenwürziger Hopfen und eine zart butterig-ranzige Note. - Antrunk eigenartig unbestimmt, einerseits süßlich karamelmalzig mit Toastbrot, Anklängen an Kräuter und Honig, andererseits mit einer unpassenden fruchtig-säuerlichen Note, die vom Roggenmalz herrühren könnte (wenn sie denn beabsichtigt war). Mild rezent. Im Abgang schwach krautige, unangenehm ranzige Hopfenherbe. - Aromatisch unentschiedenes Bier, das süße, säuerliche und herbe Aromen nicht zu einem harmonischen Ganzen zu integrieren vermag. Was mir dies Bier aber endgültig verleidet, ist der abgestandene ranzig-herbe Nachtrunk.

Flaske spandert av Rune og delt 1 Aug 17. Merket Nothelfer Trunk. Mørk nøttebrun. Høyt luftig skum med litt farge. Nøttearoma. Silkemyk munnfølelse. Smaken nøtter. Gjennomført godt øl.

Bottle. Pours murky amber. Aroma is some banana and clover, also some herbs and cream. Body is medium, cheesecake, sweet, banana. Not the most accessible Hefeweizen. Minerals, earth, chalky. Rather dry palate for a Weizen. Good.
