Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Pours a very dark brown (cola colour) with a thin fast dissipating head. Aromas of dry dark fruits, plums, stewed fruits, toffee, caramel and vinous notes. The taste is very different to the aroma, very tart with more upfront vinous notes and some cherries . Thin to medium body with average carbonation. Not my type of beer at all.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a cloudy, opaque dark bron with a faint tint of orange and a lacing, beige head. Rather distinct cherry aroma paired with some perfumy coriander. Medium body, dry and almost licoricy (Gajol) with a surprisingly bitter finish. If this was ever a Dubbel it is no more, the odd flavorings have totally obscured the base beer, and I cannot say I particularly like it. The aroma perhaps. 310124

Bottle from Willems Grobbendonk. Color: Slightly hazy golden, white head. Aroma: Malty and hoppy at the same time. Taste: Malty, grainy and bit sugary, citrus notes (lime and some orange) and a lot of great green fresh hop. Moderate sweet and over moderate to medium bitterness, very long lasting dry-ish very hoppy finish. Medium body, average carbonation. another great edition of this classic Belgian beer.

Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Pours a hazy golden/amber colour with a thinnish soapy looking white head. Aromas of yellow fruits, some ripe stoney fruits and peppery spice. Taste has bananas and cloves, apricots, lots of peppery spice, some floral, honey, a touch of warming alcohol (brandy like) and also some hints of bubblegum. Some sweetness and very well balanced. Medium to full body, fairly low carbonation and smooth creamy like mouthfeel. Brilliant Triple. Very nice indeed!

Brown with a creamy, beige head. Aroma of overripe plums, caramel, and lots of dankness. Taste is moderate sweet, full of plum juice and caramel with a mild, burnt bitterness at the back. Body to the full side of medium, restrained carbonation. The alcohol stays for the most part hidden. Not bad, but the incredible dankness and fermenting plum notes are not the most inviting.

Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Pours a hazy golden colour with a medium sized soapy looking white head. Aromas of yellow fruits, clove, coriander and a touch of floral. Taste has more of the same notes, yellow fruits, bananas, clove, coriander, more floral notes (potpourri) , some apples, a herbal touch and some peppery spice. A touch of sweetness but very well balanced. Medium body with average carbonation and slightly oily mouthfeel. Excellent flavourful well above average Belgian Blonde.

Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Pours a murky mahogany colour with a large foamy off white head. Aromas of dry dark fruits, stewed fruits and plums. Taste has more dry dark fruits, plums, toasty brown bread, caramel and a little bit of brown sugar for a slightly bittersweet finish. Full body with low carbonation and smooth mouthfeel. Decent.

Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Pours a very very dark brown with a reddish hue and a huge thick foamy beige head. Aromas of dry dark fruits, plums, cherries, caramel and brown bread. Taste has more of the fruits described in the aroma with added fruity notes of red berries, apples and some blackcurrant. Also some vinous notes leading to a slightly tart finish. Nicely balanced. Medium body with a light spritzy mouthfeel. A touch too tart for my personal preference but still a good and very well made beer.

Aromas of dark fruits, plums, berries some caramel, toasty brown bread and a slight tartness. Taste has dry dark fruits, more plums, caramel and toasty brown bread, a leathery note, a touch vinous and an earthy like bitterness on a lingering finish. Thin to medium body, fairly low carbonation and oily mouthfeel. Nice beer. Quite unique and how i imagine beers tasted centuries ago. I like it.
