Description
The Atlantic Brewing Company began as Acadia Brewing in 1990. At first the brewery was located inside the Lompoc Cafe in downtown Bar Harbor and had a maximum capacity of just one barrel at a time. Within a few years the demand for our beers had grown so much that we moved the brewery two doors down from the restaurant and increased our capacity to seven-barrel batches. However, by 1998, we had outgrown that facility as well and so we moved again – this time to our current location on the Knox Road. Our estate brewery was built on the grounds of a 19th century Maine farmstead, that employs native vegetation and local stonework.

Atlantic Brewing Company has created a site to develop new and exciting small batch beers only seven barrels at a time. This pilot facility allows fellow brewers from around the state, country, and world to collaborate on unique recipes and formulations in a shared environment. These brews, together with Atlantic small batch beer, are offered in a tasting room setting. Flights, large pours, and growlers are available for purchase at the bar.

Bomber from Oak Tree. Pours very black with a 1 finger foamy tan head. Aromas of smooth burnt malt, coffee and chocolate. Full bodied; foamy carbonation. Flavor is chocolate, burnt malt and either hop bitter or something bitter from the malt. Very flavorful. Having this after some 14.5% BA and this stands up. It’s good. Having pizza in a bit!!!

Bomber from Oak Tree. Pours really dark brown with ruby glints. Creamy beige head. Aromas of dark roast malt, dark fruit. Medium body with lightly foamy carbonation. Flavor is a little treacle, a little chocolate, a little smoke. Not excessively sweet. Finishes rather mellow. It’s a bit herby/floral - maybe that’s the heather. Decent ale.

bottle thanks to JTClockwork at the Tally tasting, pours thick black with a medium brown head. Aroma is cocoa and roasted malts. Flavor is dry throughout with roasted malts, some nutty character and a solid hop finish that dries things out well. I like it.
