Description
The first document attesting to a brewery in Cazeau is dated 17 october 1753. After 7 generations of family members running the brewery, the brewing ceased in 1969. In 2004, 35 years after the last brewing activities, Laurent Agache, 8th generation family member, started a partnership with his cousin and friend Quentin Mariage, to revitalize the brewery. They renovated the buildings and bought second hand equipment in the North of England. Currently, the brewery offers five beers with great character that are neither filtered nor pasteurized, all of which are refermented in the bottle.

If the brewery is keen on the traditional manufacturing process, it is nevertheless oriented towards innovation through a continuous search for new tastes so that beer aficionados will ever be surprised. At Brasserie de Cazeau, new typified hops, of various origins, are unceasingly tested and mixed in order to obtain beers with original, refined flavours.

Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Pours a murky muddy orange colour with a large thick foamy white head. Aromas of ripe stoney fruits and also some nutty notes. Taste is again more ripe stoney fruits, more nutty notes and some citrusy orange pith on a juicy hoppy finish. full body, low carbonation and smooth juicy mouthfeel. Excellent Triple really good.

Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Pours black with a large thick foamy beige head. Faint aromas of roasted malts, dark fruits, chocolate and caramel. Taste is a touch sweet with more dark fruits, plums, some ash, roasted malts, a little chocolate and a little brown sugar. Quite nicely balanced between roasty and sweet. Medium to full body with fairly low carbonation and smooth slightly oily mouthfeel. Pretty good!

Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Pours a hazy golden colour with a large thick foamy white head. Aromas of ripe yellow and stoney fruits. Taste has more of these notes with some added candy notes, some doughy white bread, peppery spice, a light grassy hop and some sugar on the sweetish finish. Medium body with average carbonation. Decent enough Blonde if maybe a touch too much on the sweet side for my personal preference.
