RBESG Sheffield, Smithfields Hotel Manchester, cask. Clear golden colour, white head. Light fruity hoppy aroma. Flavour is pine, orange peel, harsh hoppiness, grapefruit bitter finish. Not enough body to back up the bitterness.

Cask (handpump) @ The Star Inn, Huddersfield, England. @ [ The Star Inn Summer Beer Festival ] [ As Hornbeam High Summer Pale Ale ]. Clear medium orange amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, keller, overriped fruit, earth - woody. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090716]

Ok... in a departure from normal rating... due to the INCREDIBLY high number of BLOND ales during the Shefiled trip that all blended into one another im breaking them down into three catagories Catagory A : Golden Yellow ... light fruity lemon hop nose ... soft dull light lemon hop Catagory B : Amber ... light dry lemon hop ... soft light lemon hop with a little malt in background Catagory C : Amber ... soapy lemon nose ... light brigh lemon hop Catagory D : Amber ... light grassy lemon hop ... dry grassy lemon hop Catagory E : Amber ... light grapefruit hop ... again light hop with a little grapefruit This is a Catagory A @ the Star festival Hudersfield

Cask handpull at The Star Inn, Huddersfield. Gold, thin lasting off white head. Bit woody on aroma, bit of butter in mouth, not too hoppy on finish, more woody than anything.

Cask, gravity at Merton Summer Beer and Cider Festival, 17-07-09 Pours light amber with white head. Some hops detected on the nose. Taste is fruity and with a nice dryness at end, good beer but not as hoppy as I expected. A6 A3 F7 P3 Ov13 3.2

Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, moderate light nuts, caramel notes, moderate to heavy hoppy, fruity, hop oil. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration.
