12 oz. can from Trader Joe's. Pours a crystal clear deep gold color with a small white head and decent retention. Fair, spotty lacing. Almost no aroma. Grainy, sweet pale lager flavor with a slightly harsh finish. Borderline malt liquor territory. Crisp mouthfeel. Light body. Short finish. No bitterness. The 6.2% ABV is partially hidden. Not Trader Joe's best effort.

12 oz. bottle from Trader Joe's. Pours an opaque black color with dark ruby highlights and a large tan head and great retention. Very good lacing. Nice nitro action. Aroma of dark malts and some molasses. Flavors of dark malt, molasses, and a little dark chocolate and coffee in the finish. Semi-creamy mouthfeel. Medium body. Lightly bitter. Okay, but too much molasses for me. Looks great, tastes okay. --- Beer merged from original tick of Stockyard Oatmeal Stout on 28 May 2025 at 22:47 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 9 | Flavor - 8.5 | Texture - 9 | Overall - 8.5. 12 oz. clear bottle from Trader Joe's. Pours a crystal clear gold color with an off white head and great retention. Good lacing. Virtually no aroma. Pretty standard pale malt flavor. Slightly sweet. Clean, crisp, and smooth. Not grainy. Nothing notable, but better than the majority of macro lagers. And the low price is a bonus.

On tap at the source. Hazy cloudy bright lemon yellow color with a tightly bubbled white head. Earthy spicy pine and citrus countered with a sweet bready maltiness. Pretty nice.

Imported from Mexico? Did California relocate? 12 oz. bottle from Trader Joe's. Pours a clear dark ruby color with a beige head and good retention. Decent lacing. Dark caramel malt aroma. The flavor follows the nose. Medium dark malt and caramel malt flavors mixed together with a hint of smoke in the finish. A little sweet. Medium body and medium carbonation. Not bitter. A simple dark lager. Good for the price.

12 oz. clear bottle from Trader Joe's. Pours a crystal clear pale gold color with a white head and very good retention. Very good lacing too. Standard beer aroma. Tastes like a watered-down regular lager with a light lime finish. Not much flavor, but nothing offensive either. Light body and thin mouthfeel, but that was expected for a 3.9% ABV beer. No bitterness. High carbonation. Okay.

Cork and caged 750ml bottle all to myself on Valentines Day 2022, the wife was drinking wine and didn't fancy any beer; lucky me! Darkest deep brown body, decent beige topping. Spicy little number with plenty going on in both the nose and taste. The 'On Lees' gives the beer a funky, mini-sour yeasty feel although the malts don't allow the beer to become over sour or bitter (although if aged I should imagine the beer will become more sour in nature. Nice and different, liked it.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a very large, four to five centimetre tall tan head that stays afloat nicely. Aroma of pitted fruits, roasted malt, a good deal of yeast and bread, with some alcohol warmth coming through, but the pitted fruits and molasses notes have the most impact on the nose. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong malty and caramely flavours dominate up front with a big note of earth, rustic graininess and some nuts here, but then, the pitted fruit flavours come through more than anything else with a lot of residual sweetness, especially at the end. Aftertaste shows a good layer of toasted malts, yeast, bread, alcohol along with a kick of subtle, but noticeable spices with allspice, canella and even some aniseed here, but the sugars sort of outweigh the spices. Overall, a nice and enjoyable, yeast-forward beer with a lot of toasted malt notes, but the sugars more than do enough to take over and provide enough complexity to overtake the alcohol and malts. Perhaps this would be better after aging for a while, but it's quite drinkable now without any pungency or astringency, especially for the ABV here. I sampled this 75 cL, corked and caged bottle, purchased from Trader Joe's (of course) in Alexandria (Old Town), Virginia on 28-November-2020 for US$5,99 sampled just over a year later at my house here in Washington, as I hosted my family for Christmas, on 25-December-2021.

A 12 oz bottle that came to me by way of Joe's in Ft. Worth. End of a session, let us see how Winter Ride stacks up in a style I like but don't love. The pour is a dark, shiny mahogany with a persistent, light tan skim. I lift for a smell. Very grainy. The taste is an improvement, not really in my sweet spot altogether. A bit of cane sweetness, dark bread, spice and earth. Tolerable.
