Description
Bluestone Brewing is an exciting, eco-friendly family run brewery situated in the foothills of the Preseli Hills in North Pembrokeshire. We produce hand crafted real ales, using local water filtered down through the Bluestone Hills to produce a range of flavoursome Rock Solid Ales. Our ten barrel brewery lives in the front yard of Tyriet Farm, which is still a working farm to this day.

The name Bluestone Brewing Company comes from the local stone that the buildings were built from many years ago. Bluestone is also pretty famous for being mysteriously transported over 250 miles to become Stonehenge over 5000 years ago!

Bottle from This Is Beer. Appearance - deep brown to black and opaque. A hint of an orange chink. Tan head. Nose - caramel, honeycomb, biscuit and light smoke. Taste - wood smoke and burnt toffee. Edge of molasses. Palate - medium bodied, a bit thin and sweet, but smoky middle and finish, that deals with the sweetness well. Overall - decent.

Bottle from This is Beer. Appearance - golden, very slight haze. Big white fluffy head. Nose - mainly lemon and grapefruit pith. Just a touch of biscuit and a hint of pine. Taste - citrus again, pith dominant. Biscuit minimal which is good for the style. Palate - light bodied, dry and zesty through middle and finish. Overall - yeah, enjoyed this.

(Cask at Gallow's Bird Real Ale Festival 2020) The beer poured deep golden and clear. Its head was small, white and it lasted long. Aroma had earth, malts and grass. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grass, earth, malts, lightly sweetness and medium bitterness. Aftertaste was grassy, sweet and bitter. A different but tasty pale ale with grassy notes.

Handpull cask at the Kings Head, Leicester. Light yellow/gold and ever so slightly hazy. Tropical fruit and orange peel in the aroma with some gummy resinous notes. Tastes mostly sweet, very fresh with a splendidly judged bitterness coating the tongue in the finish. Gentle but unmistakable notes of mango and orange in the aftertaste. This is splendid.

Cask pint on 15th May 2019, hand-pulled in the Pen & Wig, Cardiff. Amber body, beige head. Tropical fruitiness in the nose and taste. A real mixed bowl from start to finish, nice balance throughout too, some sweetness and bitterness for your senses to enjoy.
