Description
Goose Island Beer Company began as a single brewpub opened in 1988 by John Hall. By 1995, John’s beer had become so popular that he decided to open a larger brewery, along with a bottling plant to keep up with demand. 1999 brought even more growth, along with an additional brewpub, and today, what was once one man’s pint-filled dream has become the Goose Island empire you know and love.

in 2011, Goose Island Beer Company was acquired by Anheuser-Busch InBev. Since then, we’ve continued to brew beer that we’re proud of and now we get to share these beers with our friends both nationwide and internationally.

16.9 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma has rich cherries, cognac barrels, some cola, and booze. Flavour reveals lots of cognac-soaked cherries, cola, bourbon, and a touch of vanilla. Great blend of bourbon and cognac, finishing light-to-medium sweet, with gentle cherry character. Light-bodied, but nicely barrel-aged. Very good, but definitely not one of the best BCBS variants.

Poured from 500mL bottle (bottled 22 July 2025). Very dark brown with almost no beige head. Nice bourbon forward with feint cognac and cherry notes, comes together nicely.

a: super deep dark brown coloured body | rich & thick tan head
a: lavender | cream | alcohol
f: polished roasted malts | yes - exactly EARL GREY tea!?! | alcohol warmth on end
t: deep tea | vanilla richness | bourbon pungency
o: perfectly true-to-name | strong throughout...as expected! | great balance, and while I love tea - this just worked well, despite me not wanting to like this, I loved it! Great to celebrate with this beer on the day that the US Hockey Team won a Gold Medal in the Olympics for the first time in my lifetime!

16 ounce bottle | Whole Foods: Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia | 02-December-2020 | US$23,99! | drink by: 13-August-2022 (whoops!!!) | sampled: 22-February-2026, the day the USA Men's Hockey Team finally won a Gold Medal after the 'Miracle on Ice' in 1980.

Flarra i hemmet. Här har vi mörkchoklad och fina små nötter . Tydligt fin sötma och tydlig underliggande bourbon. SUPERGOD. Vad håller den från topp betyg undrar du? Jo lite väl hårt rostad malt tyvär.
